Role Description We’re looking for a full-time, in-person Video Editor to join our fast-paced, story-driven media team. Reporting to our Creative Director, you'll be responsible for turning footage into powerful narratives, crafting videos that drive impact, emotion, and action. This is more than a technical editing job, it’s a creative leadership opportunity inside one of Canada’s most dynamic entrepreneur-led media companies. What You'll Do - Core Video Editing - Edit short- and long-form videos for YouTube, social media, podcasts, and online courses. - Apply transitions, titles, captions, color correction, audio cleanup, and pacing to match platform best practices. - Implement creative storytelling techniques to elevate raw footage. - Add motion graphics, music, and sound design that aligns with brand voice. - Creative Collaboration - Work with directors, producers, and talent to deliver a compelling final product. - Contribute to the creative planning process, including brainstorming, scripting, and content layout. - Participate in team reviews, feedback sessions, and postmortems. - Post-Production & File Management - Organize and manage media libraries, B-roll, templates, and assets for ease of access. - Maintain consistency in brand style, color palette, and design across all content. - Deliver final exports in multiple formats and resolutions for different channels. - Performance & Optimization - Stay current with trends in digital media, YouTube editing, short-form content, and platform-specific requirements. - Take feedback from performance metrics (click-throughs, watch time, engagement) and adapt editing styles accordingly. - Ensure projects are delivered on time and meet internal creative and strategic standards. Qualifications - 3+ years of experience in video editing for online platforms. - Advanced skills in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, or comparable tools. - A strong portfolio that includes both short-form (e.g. reels) and long-form (e.g. YouTube) content. - Deep understanding of pacing, structure, and storytelling in video. - Ability to work full-time on-site in Kelowna, BC. - Great time management and file organization habits. - High comfort with fast feedback loops and multiple concurrent deadlines. Requirements - Experience editing videos for personal brands, coaches, or high-growth media startups (preferred). - Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or color grading workflows (preferred). - Light graphic design skills using Canva, Photoshop, or Illustrator (preferred). - Passion for personal development, entrepreneurship, or the creator economy (preferred). Title: Video Specialist Location: Clearwater, FL Job Description: Schedule: This position works most days from the office, but there is the opportunity for occasional work from home and some flexibility in work hours. The expected hiring range is $57,054 - $65,613. Pinellas County Communications is seeking a talented, detail-oriented Video Specialist to shoot and edit videos and direct or assist with live County meeting broadcasts and streaming productions. You'll work with a great team of public information professionals to create a variety of video projects for internal and external use, using industry standard software such as the Adobe Creative Suite on powerful Mac workstations. You'll also work with a colleague to live-switch meeting broadcasts, including the Board of County Commissioners meetings, and will support audio production and sound reinforcement for live, on-site events such as ribbon cuttings and ground breakings.
