Position Summary: Reporting to and receiving direction from the Vice President of Accounting and Human Resources, the Director of Human Resources is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Human Resources department; including the development and implementation of HR policies, employee recruitment and retention practices, legal and regulatory compliance, employee payroll and benefits, employee relations, employment practices and procedures, marketing, and employee events. This position is responsible for executing the Center’s mission, values, and strategic goals and providing leadership with the resources necessary to ensure that the company has the proper systems in place to effectively grow and ensure operating efficiency. This position operates with a large degree of autonomy and must exercise tact, judgment, and confidentiality in contact with the public, governmental bodies, other agencies, clients, and families, as well as fellow associates of the Center. Work is very broad in scope and requires a high level of professionalism. Position Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Oversee all aspects of HR, including, but not limited to, strategic HR initiatives, employee relations, employment law, compensation, benefits, marketing, recruiting, talent management, and HRIS. Requires a highly self-motivated individual with demonstrated leadership abilities and hands on approach to analyze, develop, and administer HR programs in a complex organization. Maintains all employee records and files, including appropriate salary, classification, position management, evaluation, and benefits data. Reviews and monitors employee data entered into the HRIS to ensure validity and accuracy. Directs the completion of annual performance reviews and job descriptions to establish consistency between written expectations and actual position responsibilities. Coordinates employee recruitment activities including posting and/or placing advertisements for position openings, participating in job fairs, and providing community education regarding the benefits of employment at the Center. Manage the hiring and on-boarding process to ensure consistency across departments and appropriate communication among program, administrative, and fiscal staff. Coordinates and/or conducts orientation for new employees. Responsible for compliance and safety issues related to personnel. Monitors, audits, and creates current compensation and benefit plans to remain competitive with local markets and industry. Coordinates and monitors all leave and accommodation requests, requesting medical documentation as needed and monitoring of leave timelines. Assist with researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines, communicating, and enforcing organization values. Development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance. Develop and implement training & development initiatives to address current and future training needs, including on-the-job operational training, department specific training, management development, and new hire orientation. Regularly meet with key staff to provide leadership and strategic guidance on the HR function and to support the overall business and goals of the company. Develop, edit, and ensure adherence to the associate handbook and other Center policies and procedures. Recommend and implement new approaches, policies, and procedures for continued improvement within the HR department and across the organization. Track and analyze staffing, retention, turnover, and other HR data and information necessary for providing insight into talent-related business decisions. Ensure that the department is appropriately leveraging technology to facilitate HR operations (e.g., HRIS, other systems). Manage relationships with outside vendors. Assist in the creation of and monitor the HR budget. The Director of Advanced Practice is responsible for overall program design, development, and delivery, to create the optimal student experience and desired student outcomes.
