Title: Data Migration Specialist. ERP and Operational Systems Role purpose The Data Migration Specialist is responsible for planning, executing, validating, and reconciling data migrations from legacy systems into ERP and operational platforms. This role ensures that historical and transactional data is migrated accurately, completely, and in alignment with business and regulatory requirements. This role is execution-focused and works within the standards defined by the Data Architect. This is a remote role open to people who reside in states as listed: AZ, CA, CO, DC, FL, GA, IL, KS, KY, MD, MA, MI, NM, NC, OH, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA Key responsibilities Migration planning and execution - Analyze legacy data sources and assess data readiness for migration. - Develop data extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) plans aligned to target systems. - Build and execute migration scripts, tools, and repeatable migration processes. - Perform mock conversions and final production cutovers. Data mapping and transformation - Create detailed source-to-target mapping documents. - Apply transformation rules, data cleansing logic, and enrichment where required. - Validate that migrated data aligns with target ERP configuration and business rules. Data validation and reconciliation - Perform row-level and aggregate reconciliations pre- and post-migration. - Validate financial balances, open transactions, and historical records. - Partner with finance and operations teams to confirm business signoff. - Document issues, resolutions, and lessons learned for reuse. ERP and OpCo rollout support - Support phased ERP and OpCo migrations. - Participate in cutover planning and execution. - Support hypercare by resolving migration-related defects and data issues. - Maintain migration runbooks and documentation. Required qualifications - 5+ years of experience performing data migrations for ERP or large enterprise systems. - 5+ years of hands-on experience with SQL and data transformation techniques. - Experience migrating data from accounting, project, or operational systems. - Strong reconciliation and validation skills, especially for financial data. - Ability to work under cutover timelines with precision and discipline. Preferred qualifications - Experience migrating from mid market systems such as Sage, Great Plains, QuickBooks, or similar. - Experience supporting ERP systems such as BuildOps, Procore, or comparable platforms. - Experience with ETL tools, scripting, or migration frameworks. - Experience supporting multi-entity or multi-company data migrations. Success measures - Accurate, repeatable migrations with minimal rework. - Clean cutovers with validated financial and operational data. - Reduced hypercare issues tied to legacy data. - Well-documented, reusable migration processes.

Key Responsibilities - Manage a technical team of 1-3 data engineering resources. - Lead the day-to-day operations and tasking of your team. - Manage workload, breaking down high-level direction to smaller tasks. - Foster an inclusive team environment focused on professional growth and development. - Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of a modernized ELT solution at USGBC. - Establish and meet goals for data pipeline transparency, optimized orchestration, performance monitoring, and incident response. - Lead the expansion of USGBC’s data governance program. - Engage business and technology teams to standardize processes, clarify roles & responsibilities, define & ensure data quality, and deliver end-to-end transparency in data lineage. - Oversee the transformation of USGBC’s cloud data environment into a medallion architecture aligned with the data governance framework. - Support product launches with rapid data integration solutions. - Support the expansion of data accessibility and literacy at USGBC. - Stay current with the rapidly evolving data industry. Qualifications - 7+ years’ experience in data warehouse or application database development, analytics, business intelligence, or related field. - 5+ years’ of active and frequent coding experience in SQL required. - 3+ years’ hands-on experience with enterprise level-cloud data warehousing/ETL/ELT solutions. - 2+ years’ experience developing ELT/ETL & orchestration solutions in a structured ELT/ETL environment. - 2+ years’ experience working under a formal enterprise-level data governance program required. - 2+ years’ supervisory experience managing the work of technical/engineering resources. - Foundational understanding of relational and dimensional modeling techniques is required. - Experience with git preferred. - Experience with ERP solutions such as SAP and CRM solutions such as Salesforce preferred. - Passion for and commitment to USGBC’s mission. Requirements - Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) in computer science, business intelligence and analytics, information technology management, data science, or related field. - Required: Snowflake, MySQL, Openflow/ApacheNiFi (or similar cloud-based orchestration tool), and Python required. - Preferred: Salesforce, git, AWS, Fabric, Auth0, Entra, Sharepoint.
