Responsibilities: - Lead client advisory engagements at a CFO-level, delivering strategic financial insights and operational guidance. - Drive change management initiatives to modernize service delivery through technology, standardized processes, and best practices. - Build and maintain trusted relationships with client executives by understanding their business goals and delivering tailored solutions. - Oversee multiple client teams, ensuring timely and accurate completion of accounting engagements. - Analyze financial performance, including KPIs, and provide actionable recommendations to improve profitability and cash flow. - Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (e.g., revenue cycle, payroll, cost reporting) to deliver integrated client solutions. - Develop client budgets and forecasts, offering consultative support on financial planning and strategy. - Mentor and develop staff, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and operational excellence. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree a plus. - CPA designation preferred. - Minimum 8 years of relevant Public Accounting or industry accounting experience. - Proven success leading teams through organizational change and process improvement. - Strong project management and relationship-building skills, with a client-first mindset. - Experience managing remote teams and promoting collaboration across geographies. - Preferred proficiency in industry accounting software, e.g., QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Business Office Central, and a demonstrated ability to embrace new technologies. - Ability to analyze complex financial data and communicate insights clearly to stakeholders. - Ability to travel up to 10% Christine Villicana from Wipfli's recruiting team will be guiding you through this process. The estimated base pay range for this role is $142,000 to $195,000 with offers typically not made at the maximum, allowing for future salary increases. Individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, subject to participation rules and based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual and Firm performance. Role Description The Accounting Manager oversees day-to-day accounting operations and financial integrity across the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of financial reporting. This role manages the month-end close process, supervises accounts payable and receivable workflows, and maintains the general ledger to support clean audits and sound financial decision-making. This position requires strong analytical skills, the ability to improve processes, and leadership through influence to maintain operational efficiency and support organizational growth in a fast-paced and highly regulated industry. Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Perform daily accounting operations including general ledger updates, journal entries, and reconciliations. - Process ACH payments, wire transfers, and other electronic disbursements accurately and on schedule. - Process vendor payments and manage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice entry, approval workflows, and payment execution. - Prepare manual vendor payments related to self-billing processes and ensure proper documentation and approval. - Perform extensive account reconciliations, including bank accounts, GL accounts, claims and funding balances, and trust account activity. - Support month-end and year-end closing activities and produce accurate financial statements. - Process and review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and premium billing transactions. - Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies by working closely with internal departments. - Train and oversee accounting staff, reviewing work for accuracy and timeliness. - Participate in and lead special projects including system enhancements and operational initiatives. - Improve process efficiency through automation, SOP updates, and system enhancements. - Maintain adherence to GAAP, audit requirements, and applicable healthcare/TPA regulations. - Other tasks as assigned.
