Senior Legal Counsel

Role Description ether.fi is looking for a versatile, crypto-native attorney to join as our first part-time Senior Legal Counsel. You will be the primary legal architect for our core product suites: Stake (Liquid Staking), Liquid (DeFi Strategy Vaults), and Cash (our Visa-powered spend card). This isn't a "research and memo" role. You will be embedded across all of our teams, reviewing features in real-time and closing commercial deals that move the needle. Commitment: 15–20 Hours / Week (Remote) Experience: 4–5 Years PQE (Law Firm or In-House) Key Responsibilities - Lead legal reviews for new features on the ether.fi protocol and ether.fi Cash. - Navigate the legal and regulatory nuances of non-custodial architecture, slashing risks, L2 migrations, and other crypto-related issues across unlimited jurisdictions. - Act as a legal point of contact for day-to-day operations. - Draft and negotiate a variety of agreements, including: - Partner integrations - Vendor MSAs - Commission agreements - Liquidity provider agreements - MOUs - LOIs - Other contracts - Draft and review user-facing terms, update website content when new features or promotions launch, and ensure compliance with financial promotion regulations (SEC, CFTC, and MiCA). - Handle some day-to-day employment-related issues, including immigration, and employee and contractor agreements. Qualifications - 3–4 Years of Experience in a high-growth fintech or a top-tier "Tech/Crypto" law firm practice. - On-Chain Fluency: Ability to use a block explorer and explain the difference between liquid staking and traditional deposits to a regulator. - Builder Mindset: Ability to find ways to say "yes, if..." rather than "no, because..." and comfortable with the ambiguity of the 2026 regulatory landscape. - Efficiency: Master of triaging tasks and knowing which 20% of a contract carries 80% of the risk.
