Role Description The Medical Receptionist is the first point of service for our patients coming into the practice and is responsible for: - Greeting, registering, and scheduling patient appointments. - Verifying insurance eligibility and benefits. - Collecting co-payments and obtaining routine financial information from various sources to obtain payment plan arrangements and Medicare coverage. - Answering the phone and acting as a primary source of information to patients in the waiting area. Additional responsibilities include: - Performing various clerical duties, including maintaining departmental deposit logs and preparing routine schedules and reports. - Utilizing analytical skills necessary to maintain provider schedules. - Ensuring a positive customer service atmosphere and interactions in reception areas. - Overseeing the waiting area. - Answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner. - Coordinating patient movement and reporting problems or irregularities. - Having a working knowledge of multi-line phones. Qualifications - High School Graduate/GED. - General Studies and Basic computer skills. - Proficiency in Outlook, Windows-based, and Google Suites based programs. Requirements - Preferred: Previous medical office and/or insurance experience. - Preferred: Bi-lingual skills.
