Type of Requisition: Regular Clearance Level Must Currently Possess: None Clearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain: None Public Trust/Other Required: NACI (T1) Job Family: Cyber and IT Risk Management Job Qualifications: Skills: Firewalls, Network Security, Security TechnologiesCertifications: NoneExperience: 6 + years of related experienceUS Citizenship Required: Yes Job Description: Overview: GDIT MAINES contract has a requirement for an experienced Security Engineer to join our Network and Security Operations team for our ITS-EPA IV Managed Application, Infrastructure, Networking, Enterprise, and Security Services (MAINES) Contract in support of the Environmental Protection Agency. Position Summary: The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Firewalls, Zscaler Private Access (ZPA), Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA), and Zscaler Digital Experience (ZDX) in both IPv4 and IPv6 environments. Should also have understanding of Cloud Operations, Network Engineering, and Intrusion Detection on an operational network. The candidate should have an understanding of Fortinet and Zscaler product suite, and be able to perform the configuration, tuning, and administration of said systems. The candidate will troubleshoot complex network security issues, implement network security best practices; develop and maintain 'acceptable use policies' for IP network, firewall, and filtering policies. Candidate should be flexible to changing work environment conditions and priorities; be a proactive, team player that seeks out ways to improve, automate, and streamline processes. Will be required to work on-call rotation and on special occasions after hours work will be performed for scheduled maintenance. Task Responsibilities: - Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in Zscaler. - Considerable knowledge in the following areas: TCP/IP (IPv4 and IPv6), Fortinet Firewall, security principles, and troubleshooting. - Define, implement, and maintain corporate security policies. - Experience with deployment and documentation of enterprise project management and change management processes. - Ability to identify solutions to potential network issues. - Collaborate on problem management and root cause analysis discussions with fellow network engineers, security engineers and analysts. - Draft technical requirements, configuration management, and planning documentation. - Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: - BA/BS or equivalent, +6 Years’ current hands-on experience supporting a complex environment. - Must be a U.S Citizen. - Strong experience with Fortinet and Zscaler. - Experience using a central ticketing system such as ServiceNow for resolving incidents. - Experience using Microsoft Office Suite. - Experience using Microsoft Visio for drawings and flow charts. - Experience following a change management system to submit and perform changes. - Developing and documenting SOPs related to the work being performed. - Excellent oral and written communication. - Ability to work across multiple projects with various team members. - Ability to obtain a Public Trust. - Ability to work well with little to no supervision. - Ability to work 100% remotely. Desired Qualifications: - Scripting. The likely salary range for this position is $123,250 - $166,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Role Description Under limited supervision of the AVP Network Infrastructure, maintain and monitor reliability, performance, and security of the Credit Union’s computer systems and networking equipment to ensure corporate productivity. Maintains the security and availability of the systems that are used to serve the member.
