About the Role: - Structural Design: Manage the engineering, submission, and project management of structural designs, encompassing reinforcing, connections, and transportation and erection calculations. You will also review shop drawings and submittals and address any non-conformances or related issues. - Structural Analysis: Perform analysis and design of precast structures, components, and connections, ensuring compliance with applicable building codes and specifications. - Problem Solving: Proactively anticipate and address potential problems, developing solutions, and communicating directly with customers to reach mutually agreeable outcomes. - Project Management: Efficiently manage the needs of all team members involved, including project managers, drafters, estimators, architects, engineers, contractors, and production personnel. - Customer Engagement: Collaborate with our sales group for promotion, design, specifications, installation, and issue resolution. You may occasionally participate in calls to engineering consulting firms, counties, and cities. - Sales and Estimating Support: Assist sales and estimating departments through engineering efforts, while also offering support to production and operations in areas such as handling and lifting devices and prestressing equipment. - Safety and Compliance: Actively support and adhere to the company's health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance programs. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in engineering, with a strong preference for a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis. - A minimum of 5-plus years of industry experience, including work in the design of precast concrete, reinforced concrete, and steel. Prestressed and/or precast concrete design experience strongly preferred. - Registration as a Professional Engineer and the ability to become registered in multiple states. - Proficiency in AutoCAD, MathCAD, Concise, RISA-3D, or other precast concrete software. Experience with finite element analysis is considered a valuable asset. - Familiarity with IBC, ASCE7, ACI318, PCI, AISC, AWS building codes, and specifications. - Exceptional analytical, organizational, and proactive problem-solving skills. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional, positive, and courteous manner in all interactions with customers and colleagues. - Ability to work effectively as a proactive team player and adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, and handle unexpected events. - Ability to travel regularly to facilities in Salt Lake City, UT and Caldwell, ID.
