Position Summary The Business Development Manager is responsible for expanding S3 Security’s market presence within an assigned geographic territory by building strong relationships with new and existing clients. This individual will prospect, qualify, and close business opportunities while collaborating closely with internal subject matter experts, marketing, and operations to deliver client-focused cybersecurity and compliance solutions. This role requires a motivated self-starter who thrives in a consultative sales environment and can effectively communicate S3 Security’s value to executives across multiple industries. Key Responsibilities - Responsible for business development and client relationships across the greater [INSERT LOCATION] area - Drive new business development through proactive prospecting, networking, and relationship-building (approx. 90% outbound, 10% inbound). - Manage a revenue portfolio annually with a strong focus on growth and retention. - Develop and maintain a sales pipeline 3–4× quota through consistent opportunity creation and follow-up. - Identify client challenges and align them with S3 Security’s cybersecurity and compliance services, including: - - PCI DSS (QSA/ASV, SAQ support) - CMMC (readiness and assessment as a C3PAO) - ISO 27001/27002 - SOC 2 - NIST CSF, 800-171, and 800-53 - Third Party Risk Management - Penetration Testing - Vulnerability Scanning - Incident Readiness (tabletop exercises, ransomware simulations, and response planning) - Data Privacy and Cloud/AI Governance - Security Advisory Services - Collaborate with Business Operations, Marketing, and Subject Matter Experts to prepare proposals, statements of work (SOWs), and client presentations. - Provide a consultative approach to client relationships. - Lead client-facing security strategy and planning sessions and formal proposal presentations with client decision makers. - Manage the full sales cycle—from discovery through contract execution—ensuring alignment between client expectations and delivery capabilities. - Establish executive-level partnerships that not only drive initial sales success but also create pathways for continued growth through expanded security and compliance initiatives. - Maintain sales forecasts, key contacts & roles, account notes, and other related documentation in CRM for all assigned accounts. - Report weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales activity, pipeline health, and forecast accuracy. - Attend select conferences, client events, and networking opportunities to represent S3 Security and strengthen industry relationships. - Performs other duties as assigned. Core KPIs - New qualified meetings set per month - New opportunities created and pipeline growth - Proposals and SOWs delivered - Closed revenue and quota attainment - Client retention and satisfaction metrics Qualifications and Experience - 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management. - Sales experience within cybersecurity, compliance, or IT consulting highly preferred. - Proven ability to build relationships and sell to executive stakeholders (CISO, CIO, CFO, compliance and risk officers). - Critical thinking skills to determine the best solution out of multiple feasible options based on client need. - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience. - Strong communication, presentation, and relationship management skills. - Experience using CRM tools, LinkedIn, and Microsoft Office suite. - Demonstrated success meeting and exceeding sales quotas. - Background check required.
