Junior Data Analyst (Contractor) We’re looking for a Junior Data Analyst to join our team as a contractor, with the intention to transition to a full-time role based on performance, team fit, and business needs. This is an opportunity to make an immediate impact while getting to know our team, our work, and our culture. As a Junior Data Analyst at Zartico, you will support the team by helping translate data into actionable insights that drive client success and organizational decision-making. You will assist in analyzing datasets, creating visualizations, and preparing reports to help the team understand trends and outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your skills in data analysis, reporting, and visualization while contributing to impactful projects in a collaborative environment. This is a part-time role offering up to 20 hours per week at a rate of $20 per hour. What You’ll Do Initial responsibilities will be focused and well-defined, with scope expanding over time as the role evolves. Immediate Need: - GIS Process & Change Management: Partner directly with the GIS Expert to execute spatial data updates and process change requests, ensuring geographic datasets remain accurate and performant. Additional Responsibilities: - L2 & L3 Technical Triaging: Exploring Level 2 and Level 3 data tickets, performing deep-dive investigations into complex issues before escalating to engineering. - Adhoc Data Delivery: Execute rapid-response data requests and custom exports for internal stakeholders, prioritizing multiple competing tasks in a high-velocity environment. - Pipeline Knowledge & Stewardship: Map and learn the end-to-end data pipeline architecture to identify where bottlenecks or data quality drops occur during the ingestion process. - AI-Assisted Debugging: Leverage AI tools and LLMs for rapid knowledge retrieval, SQL optimization, and debugging code to accelerate the resolution of technical hurdles. - Data Validation & Quality Control: Perform rigorous audits on spatial and tabular datasets to ensure "gold-standard" accuracy before delivery to clients or senior leadership. Primary Technologies Required: - Basic understanding of data analysis and visualization. - Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and project management tools (e.g., Asana, Slack, Jira). - Experience managing and manipulating datasets using Excel, G Suite, or BI tools such as Tableau. - Candidates who are leveraging AI in their work thoughtfully What We’re Looking For - 1-2 years of experience in data analysis, or equivalent experience through bootcamps or certifications. - BA/BS in Data Analytics or other related technology fields. - Willingness and ability to learn quickly and take on new challenges. - Strong communication skills and interest in using data to drive business insights. - Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively. - Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. - Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies. Bonus Points: - Prior experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or reporting roles. - Familiarity with spatial data formats (GeoJSON, Shapefiles) or GIS software (QGIS, ArcGIS). - Basic understanding of ETL processes or data warehousing concepts. - Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker). - Familiarity with SQL, Python, or R. - Understanding of data modeling principles and database structures. - Exposure to marketing, tourism, agency, or SaaS datasets. - Experience with dashboard creation or reporting automation.
