Job Summary The VDC Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation of Building Information Modeling (VDC) at the regional level including full support of ongoing projects as well as preconstruction/estimating and the pursuit of new/additional work. The VDC Coordinator is asked to reside in a city where a Flintco office is located or where a VDC manager is located in order to get adapted to Flintco’s culture, as well as receive training, mentorship and support they need from a current VDC manager. Office locations are Tulsa, Oklahoma City, or Houston. Working remote from home in these cities is a possibility and can be taken into consideration. Essential Duties and Responsibilities All duties and responsibilities include the following, however, other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. - Be an enthusiastic champion in the advancement of VDC and technology. - Help resolve VDC design issues and clashes. Develop clash detection reports. - Manage the coordination process on a project, working with the subcontractors and project team. - Coordinate with subcontractors to assure that milestones are met and clashes are resolved. - Manage and distribute coordinated digital documents to the project team. - Assist with setup and management of paperless jobsites, via use of VDC and virtual plan tables. - Assist in the implementation of company/client VDC Standards on projects. - Assist the project team with the utilization of VDC kiosks and mobile devices. - Develop technical information and presentation material for response to RFP. - Participate in user group meetings for VDC related software. - Assist the project team with various project management tasks as needed. - Provides total commitment to continuous process improvement. - Supports and adheres to the matrix organizational format. - Models and reinforces safety as a top priority of the organization. Always wears a hard hat and other appropriate personal protective equipment in the field. - Meets schedules and deadlines, adheres to policies and procedures and maintains a good attendance/tardiness record. - Ensures client satisfaction, both internally and externally, through positive, pleasant, professional and efficient handling of issues. - Exercises good interpersonal skills by gladly assisting others to accomplish work of the organization, even it is outside the scope of regular duties. - Communicates with CSS, Flintco Operations, Subcontractors, Architects, Engineers, and Owner Reps professionally in written and verbal format. - Support the VDC technology needs of divisional office. Troubleshoot problems. Liaison with national vendors. Liaison with corporate technology support staff. Liaison with software developer support staff and other support channels. - Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Computes rates, ratios and percentages and draws and interprets bar graphs. Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Applies concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts and draws valid conclusions. Interprets an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deals with several abstract and concrete variables. Organizes and manages time, duties and activities efficiently. Education Bachelor's degree in construction or architectural field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience Background/industry experience with architectural design, engineering and/or MEP systems. Experience and working knowledge with VDC systems. Proficient in Autodesk Suites, AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP, Revit and/or Navisworks, Sketch Up, MS Office Suite. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations AGC CM-VDC Certification and/or Autodesk Certifications a plus; valid Driver's License Physical Requirements - Physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Special Job Dimensions The office provides a safe and healthy work environment, is adequately heated and cooled, is free from exposure and extreme conditions, has appropriate lighting and office furnishings, and is smoke-free and drug-free. While performing the duties of this position in the fabrication shop, warehouse, maintenance shop or at a project site, the employee could be regularly exposed to any number of the following, including, but not limited to: moving mechanical parts; moving machinery; high, precarious places (including, but not limited to, being raised several hundred feet in a bucket); close tight quarters; rough and sloped terrain; fumes or airborne particles; drilling and blasting activities; welding activities; toxic or caustic chemicals; the potential of falling rock; and outside weather conditions. The employee may be occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is generally loud. * NOTE – Where allowed, employees who work in positions classified as “safety-sensitive” can be disciplined if they test positive for marijuana or its metabolites, even if they have a valid state medical marijuana license. In addition, Flintco may also refuse to hire applicants for safety-sensitive jobs who test positive for marijuana as part of a pre-employment drug test, even if those applicants can produce a valid medical marijuana patient license.
