Job Description The Bilingual Specialist will provide support in the acquisition and retention of customers in all market segments (group, federal and individual) by ensuring the quality translation of communications and marketing/educational materials into Spanish, establishing and maintaining BCBSNC terminology/translation database and leading and participating in Spanish enrollment meetings and community events. - Translates and/or transcreates language for marketing materials, member guides, member letters, automated message scripts and educational materials from English into Spanish. Interacts enterprise-wide to provide necessary translations. - Makes proactive recommendations on additional materials that should be translated. - Ensures consistent language and cultural sensitivity across all materials produced in Spanish. - Establishes and maintains the BCBSNC vocabulary/terminology database in the translation software. - Serves as the subject matter expert/lead on the translation process, software tool and logistics and details in all aspects of assigned programs. - Leads and supports open enrollment meetings and community outreach events. . - Identifies, analyzes and understands target audiences and their specific program or project needs to develop effective solutions for those audiences. - Manages overall project development, including project schedules, work assignments, budgets and reports. - Manages vendor relationships on behalf of the company as assigned. - Analyzes and improves customer satisfaction through external and internal feedback. Hiring Requirements • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required) • 3+ years of experience in related field • In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field • NC Life and Health Agent’s license (or be able to obtain within 60 days of employment). • American Translators Association (ATA) English to Spanish Certification (or be able to obtain within 1 year). Salary Range At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed. Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets, licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs.
