This is the heartbeat of our organization and your time will be spent in a supportive, team environment with resources to help you flourish and leaders who care about your success. - Supervises professional fee coders for assigned departments (Primary Care or Specialty Care) for employed providers as well as designated PSA and other practices. - Key duties include, but are not limited to: - Coding, abstracting, and charge posting for physician services in the inpatient and outpatient settings. - Directly supervises coding and support staff. - Actively participates in managing charge lag by monitoring reports and work queue activity to meet and maintain established metrics. - Monitors staff quality and productivity, and provides additional education, as needed. - Recommends operational improvements and participates in the review of policies and procedures. - Works collaboratively with clinics and providers to resolve coding issues and questions. - Participates with management in personnel management, scheduling, productivity, quality, and problem resolution. - Works with coding managers and director to implement processes to improve professional fee coding operations. Qualifications - Associates Degree Preferred - A minimum of 3 years of experience in health care and revenue cycle experience required within a physician practice. - Professional coding experience required. - 1 year of supervisory experience preferred. - Must demonstrate competency of professional coding and coding guidelines. - Experience with the electronic health record (EHR) and health care applications required. - CPC or CCS-P required - Certified Professional Medical Auditor Preferred Requirements - Sedentary work - prolonged periods of sitting and exert up to 10 lbs. force occasionally

Responsibilities include: - Codes and enters diagnostic and procedure codes into the designated coding and abstracting system utilizing the 3M encoder, as appropriate. - Meets quality and productivity coding standards. - Demonstrates the ability to navigate an EMR. - Ability to code designated outpatient type at any facility. • Review/Analyze explanation of benefits (EOB), Remittance Advice, and Denials from Payers to drive resolution for account receivables. • Preparation and analysis of aging reports. • Use all channels available to resolve and collect account receivables with payers which includes but is not limited to utilizing payer portals and outbound calls to the provider desk. • Review or update claims corrections and uploads required documents in our clearinghouse portals. • Identifying underpayments and preparing documents for appeals. • Creating batches and post-received payments. • Code claims accordingly with CPT and ICD 10s codes. • Perform other duties assigned by the management. • Post charges to create a claim and submit it to our clearinghouses. • Contact patients, providers, and payers to check eligibility, pre-cert, or follow up on claims/appeals. • Ability to work well independently and communicate efficiently and respectfully with patients and insurance representatives. • Identify billing errors and denials, by understanding the problem and resubmit corrected claims or take other appropriate action to resolution.
