Role Description GAI Consultants has a career-building opportunity for a Civil Engineer 3 within our Power Business Unit’s Civil and Environmental Engineering Business Sector. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment that will utilize their related experience to develop professionally and grow in today's global environment. This position can be based out of any of GAI’s office locations and can be fully remote. - Plans, designs, and facilitates civil engineer project design tasks such as: - Site grading and drainage design - Access road design - Erosion and sediment pollution control design - Stormwater management design - Report preparation - Permitting - Performs technical and feasibility studies. - Collaborates with other professionals and discusses requirements with team members. - Uses computer programs to develop detailed designs. - Ensures that work products meet client, environmental, and safety requirements. - Performs work with minimal guidance and supervision. - Handles complex issues and refers only the most complex issues to more experienced staff. - Possesses strong knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and analysis modules. - Mentors, guides, and checks the work of less experienced staff. - Adheres to the safety and quality procedures of GAI and our clients. - Travels to other offices/meet with clients/attend project-specific meetings (occasional local/regional travel expected to be 5%-10% of the time). Qualifications - 8+ years of experience. - B.S. or M.S. in Engineering. - Professional Engineer (P.E.) License, reciprocity in multiple states. Requirements - Applies broad knowledge of principles and practices in a specific practice area. - Independently evaluates, selects, and adapts standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. - Leads tasks and projects of moderately complex scopes. - Develops plans, specifications, and other project documents. - Selects appropriate principles of engineering economics, and probability and statistics to analyze risk in a complex engineering problem. Role Description Support managers by conducting enclosure consulting and/or commissioning services for new construction and existing buildings. The target utilization rate for this position is 90%. Although most of your work can be done remotely, it is expected that you will travel, locally and nationally, to support clients, projects, and team members.
