This description is a summary of our understanding of the job description. Click on 'Apply' button to find out more. Role Description As Engineering Manager for Supply & Insights DnA, you will own three product areas that directly shape how hosts experience Airbnb and how Airbnb competes in the market. You will be accountable for: - Host Insights Platform: The primary data product surface for Airbnb hosts: earnings forecasts, calendar analytics, performance benchmarks, and pricing signals. This team directly influences whether hosts understand their business, price competitively, and stay engaged on the platform. - Competitive Intelligence (Meets/Beats): The data program that determines whether Airbnb listings are priced competitively against Vrbo, Booking.com, and other platforms. Involves data acquisition partnerships, competitive signal processing, and analytics that directly inform Airbnb's pricing and monetization strategy. - Pricing & Availability Data: Availability forecasts, supply/demand projections, and the datasets behind Smart Pricing and host pricing tools. This data is also a critical input to Finance and Strategy planning, giving the work broad internal reach and visibility. You will manage a team of data engineers, analytics engineers, and ML engineers across three groups. You will partner with Product Management, Data Science, and Product Engineering to define roadmaps, drive execution, and ship high-quality data products. You will also be stabilizing a team coming off a leadership transition — the ability to build trust quickly and create execution clarity is essential. A Typical Day - Partner with PM and DS counterparts on the host Insights roadmap — prioritizing features that improve host understanding, retention, and listing performance. - Drive execution across P&A data pipelines, competitive data ingestion, and Insights product features — unblocking dependencies across teams. - Review technical designs for pricing projection models, competitive data acquisition systems, and the host Insights analytics platform. - Manage and develop senior ICs and tech leads, ensuring strong ownership within each group. - Represent Supply & Insights DnA in cross-functional forums with Supply, Finance, and Pricing partners. - Monitor data quality, pipeline reliability, and model health — escalate risks and coverage gaps to the Director proactively. - Recruit and onboard engineering talent to fill capability gaps. Qualifications - 9+ years in the tech industry, 3-5+ years of engineering management. - BS, MS, or PhD in CS, Data Science, or related field. - Experience leading teams that build data products across multiple disciplines (data engineering, analytics engineering, ML) — not just one. - Experience building host- or user-facing analytics products — dashboards, insights tools, or performance reporting systems that surface data to non-technical end users. - Familiarity with pricing, marketplace, or supply/demand data systems — understanding of how pricing models and availability forecasts are built, maintained, and consumed by downstream teams. - Proven ability to operate in a matrixed environment, partnering across Product, Data Science, Finance, and Infrastructure. - Strong communication skills — comfortable translating technical tradeoffs to non-technical partners and representing team progress to senior leadership. - Experience building or stabilizing a team through a period of leadership change or growth. - Commitment to engineering excellence, Diversity, and Belonging. Location This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. While the position is Remote Eligible, you must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.
