Role Description Foxhole is seeking a qualified Database Administrator Subject Matter Expert. The Database Administrator requires an in-depth technical foundation in database structure, configuration, installation, operation, and maintenance with experience designing databases. This position requires knowledge and experience in major relational database languages and applications, such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and Oracle Apex. - Provide Oracle/Oracle APEX and Microsoft SQL DBA support services - Plan, implement, and monitor patching services for physical and virtual solutions - Support the planning, engineering, installation, configuration, maintenance, operations, defense, troubleshooting, and repairing of database systems and servers - Serve as a senior administrator on these database systems and their integration with other software systems as part of the information environment - Operate, maintain, integrate, and administrate database hardware - Provide leadership and technical problem solving for customer support of databases - Support the implementation of databases using SQL, Active Server Pages (ASPs), .NET, Visual Basic (VB), JavaScript, and any emerging on-premises or cloud database - Troubleshoot issues with existing or developed database systems and work with the appropriate personnel to resolve them - Develop and document system administration, database management, and user guides - Provide input to database policy guidance and, upon approval, implementation as necessary - Monitor, tune, and optimize database performance, including index maintenance and query optimization - Create, modify, and optimize database schemas, tables, stored procedures, and views - Approve requested changes, updates, and modifications to database structure and data - Ensure database integrity, stability, and system availability - Approve solutions for database backup and recovery infrastructure - Work on all phases of solutions from analysis and design through implementation and support Qualifications - At least 8 years of experience in a database administration role - Thorough background in Database modeling and implementation - Ability to provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to DBA team members - Knowledge and understanding of cybersecurity measures, to include data encryption and auditing - Experience developing strategic roadmap and goals for production databases - Knowledge of at least one object-oriented programming language, such as Java, C++, or .NET - Microsoft Office application skills to include Microsoft Access knowledge - Strong ability to produce visualization of data for leadership decision-making - Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills - Active Secret Clearance Requirements - Bachelor’s (BS) and/or Master (MS) degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent experience (10+ years) – strongly preferred but not required - Certified, CompTIA Security+ - Oracle Certified Associate and/or MS SQL certification is a plus - Experience supporting teams in AWS environments (GovCloud a plus) - Experience supporting or participating in Product Release related activities - Knowledge and experience with automation; reducing manual activities Benefits - Equal Opportunity Employer
