Our growing Customer Experience and Insights team is seeking a motivated Insights Analyst to support competitive and market research. This role is well-suited for a strong individual contributor who is intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute using their customer experience skillset. The Analyst partners closely with senior insights leaders and additional Best Egg stakeholders, to deliver primary and secondary research on consumer, market, and industry trends that inform strategy and decision-making across the organization. What we need you to do - Support the execution and ongoing evolution of Best Egg’s competitive intelligence program by developing working knowledge of Best Egg’s direct competitors, contributing to priority research initiatives, tools, and processes. - Collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders across Best Egg to understand and deliver competitive intelligence needs and support decision-making with timely insights. - Prepare briefs and summaries, while telling the story around CI and market topics that highlight key details, players, consumer perspectives, and business implications through ad hoc work, as well as regularly scheduled weekly, monthly, and quarterly objectives. - Monitor, classify, synthesize, and summarize key competitor activities including news, financial reporting, and marketing channels (direct mail, digital, social, etc.). - Track broader macroeconomic, fintech, financial services, personal finance, and technology trends through primary and secondary resources, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to translate findings into insights. - Maintain datasets and contribute to routine reporting (monthly, quarterly) on competitor activity using tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and other internal tools by leveraging SQL, Python, and other relevant data methods. - Support vendor and data subscriptions by helping ensure tools are used effectively and insights are shared broadly. Skills & qualifications you should bring to the table: - 3-5 years of professional work experience, and at least 2 years of relevant experience in market research and competitive intelligence, preferably in financial services and/or with a management consulting firm. A master’s degree in Market Research is preferred. - Reporting mastery: ability to translate findings into insights and create visually appealing reports with compelling content that tie to organizational KPIs and objectives. - Comfort with large data sets: creating, cleaning, and prepping for analysis, and the ability to conduct standard quantitative analyses using appropriate tools. - Presentation skills and storytelling focused on communicating thoughts to various audiences, which include senior-level leaders down to individual contributors. - Some experience with primary quantitative and qualitative research methodology preferred; familiarity with basic survey writing and sampling principles. - 2-3 years of relevant SQL experience writing and optimizing complex queries using CTE's, subqueries, and joins, and experience working with Python, or similar languages, for data extraction and analysis. Proficiency in Snowflake is a plus. $80,000 - $100,000 a year This position is also eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
