Job Summary: We’re looking for a highly technical and systems-minded Airtable Software Engineer to build, maintain, and evolve the Airtable ecosystem that powers Marketing, Textile Design, and Program Management operations at Ruggable. This role is deeply hands-on and highly collaborative. You will serve as the primary technical builder within Airtable, translating operational strategy into scalable, durable system architecture. Working closely with the Senior Director of Marketing and Creative Operations, you will help shape how our systems are structured, automated, and optimized to support complex cross-functional workflows. You will be expected to bring a strong technical perspective, proactively recommend improvements, and continuously look for smarter ways to design and scale our Airtable environment. What You’ll Do: Platform Architecture & Data Modeling - Design and build scalable Airtable base architecture across Marketing and Textile Design operations. - Develop clean, normalized relational data models that support initiatives, milestones, deliverables, assets, reporting layers, and capacity planning. - Evaluate current structures and proactively recommend architectural improvements that enhance performance and scalability. - Establish and reinforce governance standards, naming conventions, and documentation practices that ensure long-term system integrity. Automation & Custom Development - Develop and maintain advanced automations and custom JavaScript scripts within Airtable to power dynamic workflows. - Build scripts that generate records, manage dependencies, automate timeline calculations, and enforce data integrity. - Identify opportunities to replace manual workflows with automation, increasing efficiency and reducing risk. - Integrate Airtable with external platforms using APIs, webhooks, and middleware tools to ensure seamless data flow across systems. Operational Systems Partnership - Partner with Marketing and Textile Design leaders to translate complex operational workflows into structured, scalable technical solutions. - Actively recommend enhancements to improve usability, reporting visibility, and workflow efficiency. - Troubleshoot system issues methodically and implement durable fixes that prevent recurrence. - Support dashboards and reporting layers that provide real-time operational visibility for leadership. - Continuously assess system health, performance, and automation coverage, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement. What You’ll Need to Have: Required: - 5 to 8 years of experience in systems engineering, operations engineering, or technical program support with deep, hands-on Airtable expertise. - Advanced experience designing and maintaining complex relational Airtable bases with heavy automation. - Strong proficiency in JavaScript and experience building custom scripts within Airtable’s scripting extension and automation framework. - Experience integrating Airtable with other tools via APIs, webhooks, or automation platforms. - Demonstrated ability to think architecturally while executing at a detailed, technical level. - Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset toward continuous improvement. - Experience supporting marketing, creative, product, or design operations in a fast-paced environment is preferred. - Excellent documentation and technical communication skills.
