Role Description This project will provide clerical office support for Air Force Accession Center (AFAC) operations. These services will be remotely supporting 65 Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS) across the continental United States. The Medical Office Clerk will help determine whether recruitment applicants meet the medical standards established by Congress and the Military Services at one of the USMEPCOM geographically dispersed facilities. Key Responsibilities: - Relaying general instructions to patients or making referrals to other MEPS sections. - Obtaining updates and filing medical records as needed. - Organizing and researching patient records, extracting needed information, and reviewing records for completeness, accuracy, and consistency within established guidelines. - Ensuring arrival of medical records prior to appointment(s). - Initiating and locating patient medical records as needed. - Obtaining documentation as requested by healthcare providers (test results, or documentation not yet filed in records). - Performing other administrative and clerical duties in support of medical care and operational support. - Access to the Health Information Exchange (HIE) while performing under this contract. - Utilize the following systems for documentation collection and other administrative tasks required for medical processing through Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS): - Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA) - Composite Health Care Systems (CHCS) and/or MHS GENESIS - Defense Enrolment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) - Air Force Recruiting Information Support System (AFRISS) - Military Filing System – by sponsor social security, terminal digit order, color-coded and blocked filing system. - Contents of a military medical record, layout, sections, family members prefix designation, forms used in a Military Treatment Facility, and the medical record tracking procedure. - Complete HIPAA and Privacy Act training and shall be held accountable for complying with AFAC's specific health information privacy and security policies and procedures. Performance threshold is 100% compliance. - Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies. - This list is non-exhaustive, and the role holder may be required to undertake additional duties that are not specifically listed above. Qualifications - Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an administrative role preferably in a military setting including 6 months out of the past year. - Medical terminology certification highly preferred. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook). - High school graduate or equivalent. - Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Requirements - Sitting, standing, walking, climbing, bending/stooping, kneeling, twisting. - Visual acuity. Minimal hearing loss. - Push/pull/carry minimum 15 lbs. - Must have a favorably adjudicated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) in the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) at the time the services are performed and must maintain the level of security required for the life of the contract. Job Requirements
