• Leads and designs projects for technology landscapes, innovation roadmaps, market opportunity assessments and forecasts, techno-economic due diligence, and other types of strategic, technology focused projects. • Delivers projects in time in full and within scoped budget, based on proposals they scoped with clients and wrote themselves or proposals from team members. • Manages project end-to-end with high autonomy; prepares the project plan and timeline, keeps the team on schedule, contributes to and guides research and analysis, and forms a strong team that together delivers strong opinions and recommendations for the client. • Executes projects in 2-4 person teams, involving data analysis, conducting primary and secondary research with executives, researchers, and thought leaders, coordinating internal brainstorms and working sessions, building and applying frameworks, assessing market impact, building interim and final deliverables. • Supervises and mentors internal subject matter expert team members and coordinates with their managers during projects. • Coordinates with the client during projects and leads the delivery of project reports and presentation, virtually or onsite at clients. • Quickly ramps up on new topics, demonstrates own topic knowledge with clients, pursues independent research activities, and directs/coaches younger team members. • Develops a network with business and scientific leaders in emerging technologies and within the C-suite of current and potential Lux clients among Fortune 1,000 corporations. • Collaborates with sales, internal subject matter experts, customer success managers, and fellow consultants to acquire projects. • Contributes to the development of Lux’s group-level business and operations. • Is able to travel globally up approximately 20-30%.
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in relevant science or engineering field
- 5+ years consulting, advisory, project management, innovation management experience, or similar roles
- 2-3+ years’ experience presenting to, working with, and advising senior executives
- High fluency and proficiency in oral and written communication in English
- Strong time-, project-, team management, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment, as both an individual contributor and a project manager
- Strong business acumen, analytical thinking skills, dedicated work ethic, attention to detail, thriving under pressure, ability to prioritize, problem-solve, adapt, and learn

Job Summary Aptive Resources is seeking a management consultant with demonstrated research administration experience to deliver high-quality project management to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Research and Development (ORD) Enterprise Protections, Regulatory, Outreach, and Systems (ePROS) team. This role supports the Education-to-the-Field mission under the Field Enterprise Research Support Services (FERSS) contract by evaluating and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of ORD education and training communications, coordination processes, and supporting operational workflows delivered to the VA research community. This position requires strong client interaction skills and a demonstrated ability to work with various stakeholders across multiple tasks. Experience leading and managing projects in alignment with client goals, while managing resources and mitigating risks, is required for this position. This individual will work to conduct operational assessments, document current-state processes, perform gap analyses, and develop actionable recommendations to improve education-to-the-field program delivery. The successful candidate will be highly organized, systematic, and proactive in supporting cross-office coordination, managing and supporting execution of educational webinars, maintaining field-facing guidance, interpreting and utilizing survey and evaluation metrics, and ensuring that educational content and related materials are current, accurate, and easily accessible to users. This position is a full-time, 100% remote role. Primary Responsibilities - Evaluate and improve education-to-the-field program operations: Conduct analyses to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of ORD education-to-the-field processes, including communications workflows, training dissemination methods, and field support mechanisms. Organize, interpret, and analyze quantitative and qualitative survey and evaluation data. Show competence in handling and managing data, including personally identifiable data and general survey ethics. Develop findings and recommendations to improve program performance and user experience. - Support organizational trainings and process documentation: Document current-state education-to-the-field processes and supporting workflows across ORD and relevant VHA program offices. Identify process gaps and develop proposed future-state process and tool improvements to strengthen coordination for educational materials and communications. - Manage and execute recurring educational webinars: Plan, coordinate, and provide project management and execution support for approximately 2–3 ORD webinars per week (or as needed), including scheduling, coordinating stakeholders, proctoring/moderating sessions, and organizing and filing associated webinar documentation and field-facing materials. - Develop and maintain field-facing educational content: Coordinate updates to training requirements with the Director of Research Education & Training and support the dissemination of updated guidance to the field. Update and maintain FAQs, guidance documents, and other educational materials within ePROS systems to support user self-service. - Manage field inquiry intake and routing: Receive, triage, and manage intake of questions from the field (via ePROS intake mechanisms) and route inquiries to appropriate subject matter experts (SMEs). Track responses to ensure timely resolution and identify recurring themes for content or process improvements. - Conduct quality assessment and content integrity checks: Perform quality assessment activities within ePROS systems to ensure data/document integrity and alignment of educational content with current ORD standards, policies, and guidance. Identify inconsistencies or gaps and coordinate corrective actions. - Analyze feedback and incorporate continuous improvement: Use accepted techniques (e.g., feedback collection, structured stakeholder check-ins, surveys or targeted interviews, webinar attendance/engagement trends, and recurring inquiry analysis) to evaluate the effectiveness of educational materials and communications and propose improvements. - Maintain documentation and operational support materials: Update maintenance plans and documentation (including user manuals and operational guidance) for ORD SMEs and the field. Receive all documentation, training content and materials provided by the government and ensure the materials are organized, discoverable, and kept current with best practices and current guidance. - Develop engaging communication tools: Create and refine communication tools and educational resources for ORD, partner program offices, and the field to support rapid access to accurate information and reduce avoidable inquiries. Primary Responsibilities - Provide administrative and programmatic support for a VA Research Office - Support various research committees and initiatives, which may include the Subcommittee on Research Safety (SRS), the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), and the Research and Development (R&D) Committee. Tasks may include creating agendas in IRBNet, taking meeting minutes, and entering data into IRBNet following committee meetings, as appropriate. - Process research proposals involving the use of animal subjects and the use of hazardous biological or chemicals in medical research, including receipt, logging, routing, tracking, inquiry, evaluation, review, action and response. - Review annual continuation requests, process administrative approvals, incident reporting, and semi-annual external reports. - Coordinate communication between IACUC and SRS, providing guidance regarding regulatory and policy requirements related to animal and safety guidelines. - Performs pre-committee analysis of research protocol and Safety Survey forms, including contacting investigators and requesting additions or corrections. - Conduct database administration, audits, and project tracking through IRBNet and Excel spreadsheets - Use IRBNet to process, track, and document research projects and send out committee decision letters. - Communicate deficiencies/inconsistencies found in the IRBNet entries to research team and working with the team to ensure that all documents are complete and accurate. - Support the Research Office to conduct audits of regulatory documents - Provide IRBNet training to VA research staff, PIs, and other researchers - Field general and regulatory questions from investigators and study teams. - Use checklists and instructions to verify completeness of protocol submissions.
