Role Description The School of Professional Studies is seeking an adjunct instructor to enhance the course content and teach Introduction to Psychology for the Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences. The course will be offered in an online, synchronous, semester-based format geared toward part-time, adult undergraduate students. - Designed to orient students to the scientific study of behavior through the exploration of selected principles and theories of human behavior. - Topics include perception, learning and memory, personality development, abnormal behavior, and social influences on behavior. - The instructor will add their subject matter expertise and real-world examples, partnering with MCPHS leaders to ensure content is relevant to employers. - As part of the course development process, the instructor will partner with a project manager and instructional design manager. - The instructor will play an important role in the continuous improvement and overall success of the course. - This role is crucial in establishing the foundation of the Bachelor of Science program, directly impacting its quality and future success. - The instructor will help shape the learning experience for students and contribute to the growth of this exciting new academic offering. - Work with assigned course designer to refine content (assignments, presentations, readings, discussion boards, quizzes, exams) as needed. - Develop and provide students with an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies, texts and readings, assignments and deliverables, timelines, and evaluation criteria. - Deliver course instruction using the University learning management system and digital tools. - Use the University’s learning management system to post syllabus, assignments, and other materials and to communicate with students. - Advise and assist students through office hours or scheduled appointments, by video conference, phone or email, and through other University-approved mechanisms. - Provide service, including student mentoring, ongoing course development, and collaboration towards a new certificate in introductory life sciences. - Maintain communication with the Program Director and Assistant Dean, identifying any students of concern and relaying student progress. - Maintain a presence in the course as directed by the Program Director, including answering student emails promptly and participating in interactive course elements where necessary. - Ensure the course meets the high-quality standards of other MCPHS online and on-campus courses. - Identify tactics to improve the course based on feedback. - Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications - Advanced degree in related field. - Previous experience teaching and/or developing courses to undergraduate students in adult, part-time, or online programs. - Previous experience in the life sciences. - Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. - A commitment to student success and the ability to engage and motivate students. - Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents). - Experience with a learning management system, such as Blackboard. - Experience with video-conferencing platforms, such as Zoom. • Operation and administration of global Network Security platforms supporting enterprise and data center environments • Act as a technical authority and support point for complex network security issues involving customer concerns impacting enterprise, data center, and hybrid environments • Drive secure‑by‑design outcomes by partnering with Architecture, Infrastructure, SOC/NOC, and Application teams to influence designs, standards, and implementation approaches • Ensure network security services are reliable, scalable, well‑documented, and aligned with business and risk objectives • Contribute to the evolution of network security capabilities through technology evaluation, service enhancement, and process optimization • Engineer, administer, and optimize next‑generation firewall environments, including security policy management, network segmentation, intrusion prevention, and SSL/TLS decryption • Administer and enhance DNS security services, including policy design, threat protection, and reporting • Lead or support the deployment and operation of SD‑WAN security controls, wireless intrusion prevention, and DDoS protection platforms • Develop and execute security test plans based on architectural designs; identify deficiencies and implement improvements while minimizing production impact • Serve as a subject‑matter expert for firewall, DNS security, SD‑WAN, and related network security technologies • Respond to security incidents, service requests, and escalations, ensuring resolution within defined service levels • Create and maintain runbooks, operational documentation, and workflows to improve consistency, reliability, and operational maturity • Support mergers and acquisitions through network security assessments, discovery activities, remediation planning, and secure integration design • Advocate for new or enhanced network security services and contribute technical requirements to technology selection and evaluation processes • Drive operational efficiencies and automation that enable the team to focus on higher‑value engineering work • Deliver assigned initiatives on time and in alignment with service level expectations • Adhere to all applicable policies, standards, and procedures, and perform other duties as assigned by management.
