Job Description

Developer Relations Engineer / Advocate

RevenueBase Inc

This description is a summary of our understanding of the job description. Click on 'Apply' button to find out more. Role Description We are looking for a Developer Relations Engineer to help us evolve our customer experience from a sales-led motion to a developer-first, product-led engine. - Your primary goal is to remove friction. - Ensure that developers can evaluate RevenueBase, understand our value, and deploy code without needing to schedule a sales call. - Be the bridge between our product and the developer community, focusing on time-to-value and technical transparency. What You'll Do - Drive "Time-to-Value": - Lead the initiative to reduce the developer onboarding time to <5 minutes to "Hello World". - Audit and improve our docs and flows so users can run their first search or API call immediately. - Create "Code-First" Content: - Ensure that every operation and workflow we support has copy-pasteable code snippets available publicly on our website. - Bridge the Infrastructure Gap: - Write foundational guides on how to configure the tools they use with us—specifically Snowflake, S3 buckets, and data warehouses. - Enable Asynchronous Evaluation: - Ensure our documentation is indexed for search and LLM queries. - Advise on creating a highly developer-friendly product trial experience. - Community Trust & Support: - Engage with the developer community by separating technical help from "selling." - Build trust by providing what works and offering technical advice, not upsells. Who You Are - Technical & Hands-on: - Comfortable writing Python and SQL to build the same agents and workflows our customers are building. - Champion of Self-Serve: - Understand that developers hate being sold to and dislike scheduling calls. - Prioritize documentation and product improvements that allow them to self-serve. - Empathetic Educator: - Eager to create content that solves peripheral problems related to our API. - Clear Communicator: - Can explain complex data problems simply. - Motivated Collaborator: - Thrive in high-agency environments where you ship daily and collaborate directly with Engineering and Sales. - Trail Blazer: - Genuinely excited about AI agents and want to help developers build reliable autonomous systems. Why RevenueBase - Frontier impact: - Define the data infrastructure patterns for autonomous AI agents as they move from prototype to production. - Proven traction: - Cashflow positive, 100% retention, tripling growth. - Technical depth: - Real problems without Stack Overflow answers—debugging agent loops, architecting data flows for continuous AI. - Founding role: - First DevRel hire with clear path to leadership as we scale from supporting dozens to thousands of AI developers. What We Offer - Real stake: - Competitive salary and meaningful equity as a founding technical hire. - Comprehensive health coverage: - Medical, dental, and vision plans. - Direct impact: - Work directly with CEO (previous company sold to D&B for $125M), and small team. - Flexible time off: - Take what you need.

• Drive adoption: This is a founding role; you’ll shape how we engage with developers, what channels we double down on, and how we turn interest into adoption. You’ll collaborate with marketing, product and engineering, but you’ll own the developer voice outside the company. • Create content: Create compelling content (blog posts, videos, tutorials, demos, sample code, example repos) that show developers how to use Infracost and integrate it into their workflow. • Build community: Build awareness through GitHub, Slack, YouTube, Reddit, Hacker News, and relevant dev communities or podcasts. Test messaging, content formats, and distribution strategies with one goal in mind: increasing developer signups. • Feedback loop: Collect insights from the community, report back to product and engineering, and help shape the roadmap.
