Role Description GovCIO is currently seeking a Ruby on Rails Backend Developer to work on a cross-functional team dedicated to delivering impactful features on VA.gov. This pivotal role will coordinate the development efforts across different departments to ensure timely and efficient feature rollouts. This position will be a fully remote position located within the Continental United States. Please note: The MOD for this work has not yet been awarded. Qualifications - Bachelor's with 5 - 8 years (or commensurate experience) - Demonstrated experience developing in Ruby on Rails and managing backend systems. - Analytical and investigation skills, including use of RSpec. - Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and supervision. - Experience with Agile Methodology and Scrum Processes. - Significant knowledge of software development lifecycle. - Experience with code versioning and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Github, Confluence, etc.). - Demonstrated experience in a remote work environment. - Must be a US citizen or authorized to work in the US. Requirements - Proven experience working with the VA and/or other Federal agencies, with a deep understanding of federal processes and regulations. - Familiarity with the VA.gov platform and its ecosystem, demonstrating the ability to navigate and optimize its features effectively. - Knowledgeable in government cloud hosting solutions, and adept at managing web hosting environments. - Proficient in managing API services within the VA network; skilled in handling and optimizing RESTful API transactions. - Demonstrated expertise in system integrations, with a preference for candidates who have experience with CorpDB, MPI, BDN, and/or VBMS systems. Target Salary Range $146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position.
