The Job at a Glance As VP of Product Engineering at Evermore, you'll lead the engineering organization responsible for building and scaling our proprietary software platform, the technical backbone of a business operating at the intersection of healthcare, retail, and financial technology. You are a strategic partner to our CTO, Director of Product, and Leadership Team, shaping not just how software is built, but how engineering capability itself evolves as a competitive advantage. You bring a rare combination: the technical depth to credibly lead architects and staff engineers, the business fluency to influence executive decisions, and the organizational instincts to build and sustain high-performing teams — including distributed and globally blended ones. Your work will directly and positively impact the lives of everyday people who are older and/or have lower incomes, making healthcare more accessible and personalized for underserved populations — our products make a tangible difference in people's lives. What You Will Do Working within an organization created at the intersection of health care, retail and financial technology, no two days will look the same. Typical responsibilities of the role include: - Technical Strategy & Architecture - Own the long-term technical vision for the product engineering organization, ensuring alignment between architectural decisions and business strategy - Guide teams on system design and architecture, knowing when to build, buy, or partner, and when to invest in foundational platform work versus move fast on delivery - Introduce and mature ML/AI-informed capabilities within the platform, partnering with data and product teams to identify where intelligent automation and predictive features can drive outsized user value - Drive the engineering organization's approach to data, both as a product input and as a tool for measuring the health and performance of the systems you build - Delivery & Operational Excellence - Set and uphold a high bar for delivery quality, velocity, and reliability across multiple concurrent product workstreams - Establish a mature approach to estimation, technical debt management, and build/buy tradeoffs at an organizational level — not just at the team level - Benchmark software delivery performance against comparable organizations and use that data to set credible, ambitious targets - Lead and continuously improve practices across a geographically distributed engineering organization, including teams working across time zones, ensuring consistency in standards, culture, and output quality without friction for your domestic teams - People & Organizational Leadership - Lead a multi-layered engineering organization including engineering managers, staff engineers, and individual contributors; you are a builder and developer of leaders - Partner with recruiting and HR to maintain a staffing plan aligned to product priorities — including proactively identifying capability gaps, succession risks, and opportunities to deepen the bench - Set the tone: high expectations, fast pace, psychological safety, and a genuine commitment to making Evermore the career highlight for every engineer here - Coach and sponsor emerging managers and technical leaders, with a demonstrated track record of developing people into bigger roles - Executive Partnership & Influence - Serve as a trusted technical advisor to the CTO and business leadership, translating complex engineering tradeoffs into clear business terms - Gather and analyze engineering performance data to drive organizational decisions, surface risks early, and demonstrate impact - Present and demo work compellingly — to executives, to the board, and across the business — making engineering legible and exciting to non-technical audiences About You While every candidate brings a unique resume and prospective, an ideal candidate will include: - 10+ years in engineering leadership, including managing managers and leading organizations of meaningful scale and complexity - Demonstrated success operating at the Sr. Director or VP level, with ownership over both delivery outcomes and organizational health - A track record of developing leaders (managers, staff engineers, and high-potential ICs) with references ready to speak to your coaching and sponsorship - Hands-on engineering background in a relevant discipline; experience in data engineering, ML/AI platforms, or data-informed product development is a strong plus - Experience leading distributed or globally blended engineering teams, with the operational maturity to maintain quality and culture across geographies - Proven business partnership skills. You've worked closely with product, commercial, and executive stakeholders and know how to translate between technical and business contexts fluently - A quantitative mindset: you build dashboards, write queries, and use data to prove or disprove your own hypotheses about engineering performance - Strong presence as a communicator and presenter. You can hold a room with engineers and executives alike - Solid computer science fundamentals - Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience strongly preferred; advanced degree a plus Other Requirements - Travel may be required from time to time as part of the role, for company events and business needs - evermore is a remote-first, distributed workforce. Candidates should be comfortable with, and equipped to work within, a distributed remote team, including having reliable internet access and basic home office equipment. evermore will provide a work laptop, and mouse/keyboard upon request - Legal authorization to work in the US is required. At this time, evermore will not consider candidates who need sponsorship, now or in the future - All offers for employment are contingent upon successful completion of a background check What We Offer - Competitive base salary ranging from $251,750 to $267,825 , discretionary bonus, and equity; depending on experience/qualifications - Benefits - Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance with 90% paid employer premium contributions for all tiers - 100% Employer Paid Short-Term & Long-Term Disability - 100% Employer Paid Basic Life Insurance Policy - Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - 401(k) Program - Discretionary PTO - Paid holidays - Parental Leave - Flexible work schedule within core hours - Work anywhere in the USA as we are a fully distributed team from coast to coast evermore is an equal opportunity employer, Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran/LGBTQIA+ – proudly embracing diversity in all its manifestations. At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!  This role is part of TeraWave, a satellite communications network designed to deliver symmetrical data speeds of up to 6 Tbps anywhere on Earth. This network will service tens of thousands of enterprise, data center, and government users who require reliable connectivity for critical operations. This role is part of TeraWave, a satellite communications network designed to deliver symmetrical data speeds of up to 6 Tbps anywhere on Earth. This network will service tens of thousands of enterprise, data center, and government users who require reliable connectivity for critical operations. We are a mission-driven team of collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers relentlessly committed to a culture of safety and operational excellence. As part of a passionate and accomplished team of engineers, you will directly impact the future of space flight and help us make progress towards our mission of building advanced optical communications for space. Join us in advancing our vision of revolutionizing space-based communications to benefit Earth! We are building TeraWave's executive leadership team and looking for a VP of Networking to lead the network architecture, control planes, and ground systems that transform our 5,408-satellite constellation from a bent-pipe relay into a global, enterprise-ready network. Your team will design and optimize the routing infrastructure—spanning on-orbit routing across optical crosslinks and RF fallbacks, ground segment integration with carrier networks and cloud providers, and customer-facing APIs for provisioning and traffic management—that delivers carrier-grade service reliability. This leader will be responsible for end-to-end system latency (space + ground), network routing efficiency, and customer service operations. Your early leadership is critical to ensure that payload and terminal decisions align with carrier-grade networking requirements and long-term service reliability across enterprise, data center, and government markets worldwide. Role Responsibilities: As VP Networking, your technical execution responsibilities span designing ground network architecture including gateway placement strategies, routing protocol selection, and traffic engineering frameworks. You'll develop the control plane and orchestration software that manages routing across the constellation, optimizes traffic flows, and ensures quality of service (QoS) delivery. You'll architect on-orbit routing capabilities leveraging optical inter-satellite links and RF fallback mechanisms to maximize throughput and minimize latency. You'll establish ground segment integration with terrestrial carrier networks and cloud providers, building the interconnection fabric that extends TeraWave's reach into global internet infrastructure. You'll own the Network Operations Center (NOC), which maintains customer-facing service operations including traffic routing, QoS management, SLA monitoring, and service provisioning. This is distinct from the Mission Operations Center (MOC) owned by Spacecraft Systems—your NOC ensures customers receive their contracted service levels while the MOC maintains satellite infrastructure health. For cross-functional integration, you'll receive payload waveform capabilities from the Payload team and define network software requirements for payload processors to enable routing and traffic management. You'll work with the Spacecraft team to receive spacecraft capabilities (data rates, latency, availability) and provide constellation management requirements. Your partnership with the Product team will translate customer SLAs into network performance requirements including routing efficiency and failover times. Your organization will scale strategically with talent evolving from initial SDN architects and secure routing engineers to cloud integration specialists, OSS/BSS developers, and AI-driven networking teams. You'll build NOC automation and AI Ops capabilities to manage network complexity at constellation scale, implementing predictive analytics, automated remediation, and intelligent traffic optimization. You'll manage system-level cybersecurity across the network stack, establishing security architectures, threat monitoring systems, and incident response protocols that protect customer data and network integrity. Your security framework will span ground gateways, space segment communications, and customer interfaces. Your business responsibilities include managing NRE budgets across network development programs, driving operational efficiency through automation and AI Ops, and optimizing network economics through topology optimization and capacity planning. You'll balance performance, reliability, security, and cost tradeoffs to deliver network infrastructure that meets constellation deployment schedules while ensuring carrier-grade service quality. Minimum Qualifications: - 15+ years engineering experience with large-scale network architecture, routing protocols, and distributed systems - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline - Experience leading organizations through rapid scaling from R&D through production operations - Experience managing 100+ person technical organizations across software, network engineering, and operations disciplines - Prior experience building and operating Network Operations Centers for high reliability services - Strong systems engineering fundamentals with ability to manage complex network-payload-spacecraft interfaces - Experience with SDN (Software-Defined Networking), traffic engineering, and QoS frameworks - Demonstrated ability to balance latency/throughput/reliability/cost tradeoffs in network systems - Experience with network security architecture and operations Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree or PhD in related engineering field - Experience with satellite network architectures or space-based communications systems - Proven track record of carrier-grade network operations and SLA management - Experience with cloud provider interconnection and internet peering architectures - Background in AI/ML-driven network automation and predictive operations - Familiarity with OSS/BSS systems for telecommunications - Experience with constellation management software and dynamic routing optimization - Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, threat detection, and incident response - Experience in enterprise, data center, telecommunications, or government/defense networking markets - Background with API design and customer-facing provisioning systems Compensation Range (Base Salary) for: CA applicants is $275,500.00 - $384,300.00 Culture Statement Don’t meet all desired requirements?
