About the Role We are seeking a strategic and commercially astute leader to join our team as Managing Director of Client Renewals. This role is responsible for owning and executing Union Healthcare Insight’s client retention and renewal strategy across a defined portfolio of member organizations and will report to the Vice President of Client Services. As a senior member of the team, you will serve as a trusted advisor to healthcare executives, ensuring our members not only renew but deepen their engagement and expand their partnership over time. You will lead value-based renewal conversations, proactively manage retention risk, and drive measurable revenue outcomes. You will collaborate closely with research leadership, sales, and operations to ensure a cohesive and differentiated member experience. The ideal candidate brings executive presence, analytical rigor, and a bias toward action — along with the ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-moving, researcher-led organization. Key Responsibilities Renewal & Retention Leadership - Own the full renewal lifecycle for assigned accounts. - Design renewal and retention processes and strategy. - Develop proactive retention strategies. - Lead renewal negotiations and secure multi-year agreements where appropriate. - Maintain accurate renewal forecasting and pipeline visibility. Executive Relationship Management - Serve as primary strategic partner for renewal-stage clients. - Conduct business reviews and value discussions with senior healthcare leaders. - Align Union’s offerings with evolving client priorities. Value Communication & Growth - Clearly articulate and quantify membership impact and ROI. - Prepare executive-ready renewal materials and engagement summaries. - Identify and pursue upsell, cross-sell, and expansion opportunities. Cross-Functional & Strategic Contribution - Partner with research and leadership to reflect client needs in content and product evolution. - Contribute to retention strategy, pricing discussions, and growth planning. - Track and report on retention metrics and revenue performance. About You - 7+ years of experience in client renewals, strategic account management, partnerships, or advisory services (healthcare experience strongly preferred). - Proven ability to engage C-suite stakeholders and lead sophisticated renewal discussions. - Strong commercial acumen with experience managing revenue targets and forecasting. - Analytical and data-informed, able to translate engagement metrics into strategy. - Clear, compelling communicator with executive presence. - Proactive, organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. - Collaborative and mission-driven, with a strong interest in healthcare strategy and market trends. - Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time Compensation, Benefits & More - Competitive base salary (range and leveling to be finalized based on experience and location) - Direct impact on a product family that attacks a $250B+ industry problem - Fully remote role within the United States - Flexible time off - Comprehensive health benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage California Salary Range $130,000—$185,000 USD
