Role Description Welty Energy is looking to add a Distribution Engineering Technician to our team! As a Distribution Line Engineer, you will support projects as part of a team of Distribution line engineers and designers to provide design services for our utility clients. This role is expected to work near our client sites in Eastern Pennsylvania mirroring EST working hours. The role may be considered for a remote position for the right candidate. - Prepare construction plan documents as required per project. - Perform analysis/modeling of wood, steel, concrete, and ductile iron poles. - Provide technical assistance to the Welty Project Management Team as requested. - Verify projects are following all applicable client standards. - Utilize client software to manage drawings checked out by Welty. - Perform site visits when necessary. - Consult on internal projects when requested by the PM, Portfolio Manager, or Executive Vice President. - Perform Quality checks to ensure project quality and project completion before submitting project. - Perform Electrical Calculations (Load ratings, Transformer Sizing, etc.). - Be the main contact for team questions and technical issues. - Train new hires on software, engineering/construction processes, types of equipment, etc. Qualifications - Associate's degree in drafting or equivalent technical program. - 2+ years of experience designing distribution projects utilizing AutoCAD and/or DDS (Distribution Design Studio). - Relevant experience on distribution design, focused on 12kV to 34.5kV preferred. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Effective organizational skills. - Be able to travel 15-30% of the time based on business needs.
