Position Summary Vivun is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and grow a high-performing, distributed engineering team responsible for advancing the state of the art in AI-led sales. In this role, you’ll be accountable for team execution and outcomes while partnering closely with Product and cross-functional leaders to translate ambitious goals into reliable, scalable delivery. You’ll coach and develop engineers through regular 1:1s, feedback, and performance management, while also contributing hands-on technical leadership. You will guide system design, architecture decisions, and AI-native product development practices, including experimentation velocity, evaluation, quality, and reliability across AI-driven features and services. You’ll champion a strong engineering culture with high standards, inclusive collaboration, and a user-first mindset in a fully remote environment. This is a high-impact role for a leader who thrives in fast-moving startups, creates clarity amid ambiguity, and is energized by building technology that changes how people work. Key Responsibilities Vivun is a fully remote, geographically distributed technology company. As an engineering manager, you will: - Grow and build a high-performing, diverse team through recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training. - Coach engineers on their day-to-day work and career aspirations, conduct regular 1:1s, and evaluate performance, setting actionable goals to push themselves, the team, and the company. - Collaborate closely with Product to shape goals, milestones, requirements, and sequencing, bringing engineering teams into alignment. - Provide strong technical leadership and set direction for our architecture and stack to ensure the team and systems perform well at scale. - Be accountable for team plans, deliverables, and execution. - Lead AI-native development practices: support rapid iteration with strong guardrails, enabling teams to ship, measure, and improve AI experiences continuously. - Drive quality and reliability for AI experiences by promoting robust evaluation, testing, monitoring, and feedback loops across real-world usage. - Foster a culture of empathy for users and hold a high bar for excellence to ensure teams deliver products that solve the most important problems and delight our users. - Foster an inclusive environment with a high degree of trust and transparency among team members and leadership. - Help team members build strong, meaningful relationships through virtual and in-person culture initiatives. Desired Skills and Experience - 10+ years of experience in software engineering - 5+ years of experience managing and leading engineering teams - Strong track record of delivering large-scale, resilient, and observable distributed systems and services - Strong collaboration and communication skills - Strong hands-on skills; can drill deep into system design or implementation - BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related majors, or equivalent experience - Experience working in high-growth startup environments - Experience managing remote software engineering teams is preferred - Experience building AI-powered products (LLMs, voice, agentic workflows, retrieval, evaluation frameworks, or human-in-the-loop systems) is a strong plus - Familiarity with responsible AI practices (safety, privacy, data governance, and model risk mitigation) is a plus You Are - A believer in Vivun’s core values: Set the Standard.
