You will work closely with the Divisional CFO, Business & Technology Operations, the Consulting and Delivery teams in the organization, and the broader FP&A team, partnering cross-functionally across the organization to drive financial insight and operational clarity. How you’ll help Review professional services consulting projects for time and materials billing or milestone achievement, ensuring accurate and timely revenue recognition and forecasting future revenue Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models for the professional services business Prepare and deliver variance explanations comparing actual results to budget and forecast, providing actionable insight to the Divisional CFO, Business & Technology Operations, and senior leadership Analyze data from OpenAir (our time tracking and project management system) to forecast future revenue and identify capacity coming open as projects wind down Report billability and utilization for individuals and departments across the company to provide visibility into workforce deployment Partner with the VP of Revenue and the HR Business Partner to ensure consulting projects are appropriately staffed, flagging capacity gaps or surpluses proactively Understand and apply revenue recognition principles (ASC 606) to professional services engagements Support month-end and quarter-end close activities related to professional services revenue Communicate findings and financial results clearly to both finance and nonfinance stakeholders Support audit requests and other external data requests as necessary Identify opportunities for process improvement within the FP&A function Work on ad hoc projects and analyses as applicable Monitor backlog performance versus budget and forecast, proactively identifying revenue risks and recommending mitigation actions. Support board-level and executive reporting through accurate forecasting and financial commentary. What will make you a great fit Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field Minimum 4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis within a professional consulting organization Experience in a private equity–backed or high-growth environment preferred Strong understanding of professional services business models, including time and materials billing, milestone-based billing, and related revenue recognition principles Demonstrated experience with project-level financial analysis, including forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis Advanced Excel skills required (financial modeling, scenario analysis, and complex data manipulation) Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) is expected Experience with OpenAir, NetSuite, or similar enterprise resource planning and project management systems strongly preferred Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy while also working with speed Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work cross-functionally with operations, HR, and leadership Ability to manage competing priorities, stay organized, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment A commitment to learning and the flexibility to adapt as the company continues to grow and evolve What you can expect Excellent insurance options, including medical, dental, and vision plans; company-paid life insurance; company-paid long- and short-term disability insurance; paid parental leave; and medical and dependent-care flexible spending plans. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience. This role will be 100% remote, with infrequent travel (generally 0–2 times per year). Core time zones for work are East/Central.
