Collections Analyst

About the role As a Collections Analyst at Vcheck, you will play a key role in supporting the company’s accounts receivable function by ensuring timely and accurate processing of customer payments and collection activities. This position is responsible for maintaining up-to-date records of outstanding accounts, sending reminders, and assisting with the resolution of overdue invoices. The Collections Analyst works closely with the accounting and customer service teams to promote positive customer relationships while helping to reduce delinquent balances and support the overall financial health of the organization. This is a fully remote role. What you'll be doing - Request and pursue payment on delinquent accounts via communication with the account holder - Send friendly reminder emails for prior month invoices - Research customer payment discrepancies and past-due amounts - Research customer credits (journal entries, overpayments, credit memos) - Generate and distribute monthly customer statements - Maintain logs of payment promises and pertinent account details; schedule follow-up communication with the account holder - Deliver special billing instruction invoices - Generate consolidated invoices as requested by customers - Complete AR-related cases - Monitor and manage the accounts receivable inbox as needed - Meet with your assigned sales rep(s) weekly or bi-weekly - Take and return incoming calls - Attend AR daily team meetings, biweekly finance/sales ops/IT meetings, and monthly company-wide team meetings - Generate SOPs to document current procedures and update them, as needed. - Performs other duties as assigned About you Key requirements: We're looking for someone who is passionate about joining a diverse team and is driven to achieve results through ownership, process optimization, and upstanding character. • Managing communication with internal stakeholders/external customers to instill a sense of urgency for resolution/payment • Identifying of delinquent accounts and initiation of appropriate collection/resolution activities • Collaborating with other internal functions to drive resolution of the issues • Initiating of the Dunning and/or Service Suspension procedures • Escalating accordingly to management when necessary • Minimizing Unapplied Cash & Credit Memos through effective communication with customers
• The Patient Account Representative is responsible for working accounts to ensure they are resolved in a timely manner. • Follow-up on claim submission, remittance review for insurance collections, create and pursue disputed balances from both government and non-government entities. • Work independently as well as work closely with management and team to take appropriate steps to resolve an account. • Maintain department daily productivity goals in completing a set number of accounts while also meeting quality standards as determined by leadership. • Research each account using company patient accounting applications and internet resources that are made available. • Conduct appropriate account activity on uncollected account balances with contacting third party payors and/or patients via phone, e-mail, or online. • Document clear and concise notes in the patient accounting system regarding claim status and any actions taken on an account. • Recognize potential delays and trends with payors such as corrective actions and responds to avoid A/R aging. • Participate and attend meetings, training seminars and in-services to develop job knowledge.
• Test and iterate rapidly on different collections strategies, testing new outreach techniques, incentives, and risk-based approaches. • Design and implement predictive collections scoring and automation, leveraging segmentation, data analytics, machine learning, and vendors to optimize recovery rates. • Develop and scale collections outreach models—across digital, automated, and agent-led channels—to maximize efficiency and performance. • Coordinate and manage relationships with external collection agencies to ensure aligned strategy, consistent performance, and compliance. • Build and lead a high-performing collections strategy and analytics team, ensuring best-in-class execution and continuous improvement. • Work cross-functionally with Credit, Data Science, Product, Growth, and Operations teams to refine collections strategy, enhance underwriting insights, and drive innovation. • Own key collections KPIs, including delinquency rates, recovery efficiency, and overall portfolio performance, ensuring financial targets are met. • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements
