Role Description As a QA Manager at vCluster Labs, you aren't just tracking bugs; you are engineering reliability for the world’s leading Kubernetes multi-tenancy platform. In this role, you will act as a "Player-Coach" for a growing team, driving the strategic shift from manual testing to a sophisticated, automated ecosystem. You will have the unique opportunity to shape our quality culture, balancing deep technical oversight with the disciplined execution required to scale our engineering velocity. - Automation Strategy: Lead the evolution of our testing strategy, shifting the balance from 80% manual to a highly automated, DevOps-integrated workflow. You will ensure our frameworks are scalable and resilient. - Technical Leadership: Act as the technical authority for QA, diving deep into Go and Kubernetes to unblock complex problems. - AI Augmentation: Champion the integration of AI-driven testing tools and LLMs to accelerate test case generation, automate root-cause analysis of complex K8s logs, and optimize our regression suites. - Team Development: Manage and mentor a team of QA Engineers and SDETs. You will act as a "Supportive Elevator," prioritizing value over tasks and fostering an environment of fearless innovation where engineers are encouraged to build better solutions. - Release Excellence: Own the operational rhythm of our releases. You will partner with Engineering and Product to balance the reduction of technical debt with the speed required to deliver intuitive experiences for our customers. - Team Building: You will partner with the People Team to attract and identify world-class engineers who meet our rigorous technical bar. Qualifications - 5+ years of testing experience with a strong focus on backend/API testing and DevOps workflows. - Deep expertise in Kubernetes and understanding of how to test complex distributed systems. - Experience leading high-performing teams and managing engineers who function autonomously. - Comfortable reading and debugging code (preferably Go) and viewing feedback as an upgrade path. - Thrives in fast-paced environments where you function autonomously to build something great. Requirements - CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) or CKAD certifications are a plus. - Proficiency in Go is a significant plus. - Deep hands-on experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure. - A history of engaging with the community or contributing to open-source projects.
