• Build and operate web applications and the APIs that power them • Collaborate with non-technical members to iteratively prototype and develop new customer features • Work across Engineering teams to maintain and improve shared AWS infrastructure • Grow projects from design to betas and upgrade betas to use at scale • Provide technical leadership, contributing to the architecture and design of the teams systems • Guide all team members to follow good engineering practices • Partner with product managers and outside stakeholders to align technical strategy with business priorities
• Drive adoption of Zus’s Aggregated Profile (ZAP) and related platform capabilities among technology-enabled value-based care (VBC) organizations • Own complex, technical sales cycles by selling both the value of unified patient data and how it integrates into modern healthcare stacks • Shape territory strategy and refine ICP as the market evolves • Identify and win high-value accounts across tech-enabled provider groups, MSOs, specialty networks, and ancillary services • Help customers re-architect workflows around unified data • Position ZAP as the data foundation for care coordination and longitudinal patient records • Run discovery across clinical, product, and engineering teams • Map customer data flows, architectures, and integration needs • Deliver demos of APIs, data products, and platform capabilities • Translate business problems into concrete implementation approaches
• Own the technical delivery lifecycle following contract signature through production deployment and early adoption • Lead and grow a team of Solutions Engineers and Forward Deployed Engineers • Develop career paths, performance expectations, and development plans for the team to ensure excellent execution of goals • Ensure consistent, high-quality execution across multiple concurrent enterprise implementations • Establish best practices for onboarding, implementation, integration, and go-live readiness • Set customers up for success across multiple different high priority use cases • Ensure customers achieve rapid time-to-value from the Zus platform • Personally engage on strategic or technically complex customer deployments • Guide integrations involving FHIR, HL7, CCD, APIs, SFTP pipelines, and EHR platforms • Troubleshoot complex interoperability and data pipeline issues • Work directly with engineering teams to deploy and operationalize Zus products • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customer technical and operational stakeholders • Support customers in building production-grade applications and workflows on top of Zus APIs • Help customers operationalize clinical and operational data across care delivery workflows • Lead the development of reference architectures and deployment patterns • Identify integration opportunities that accelerate product adoption and expansion • Oversee technical onboarding and training programs for new customers • Enable customer engineering and product teams to effectively build on the Zus platform • Develop documentation, workshops, and enablement resources for technical users • Lead the adoption of AI tools and automation frameworks across the delivery organization • Identify opportunities to automate manual implementation work using LLMs, scripting, and developer tooling • Develop reusable automation patterns for all parts of the Zus ecosystem • Help customers leverage Zus data to power AI-enabled workflows and analytics applications • Translate customer implementation patterns into platform improvement • Participate in technical discussions to find reusable integration patterns that can be embedded directly into the Zus platform • Communicate customer needs to the Product & Engineering teams
• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of software developers • Partner with product managers, engineers, AI/ML experts, healthcare providers and the teams which support them to identify and develop platform use cases, and the associated features and fixes needed to support them • Take ownership for making sure our business critical services remain safely operational for our customers • Partner with product management in Agile sprint management rituals • Work hands on as time allows with Zus codebases
• Collaborate with our founding product and engineering leaders to bring our vision to the nation’s healthcare entrepreneurs • Collect health data from a broad range of internal and external sources and making that data useful for users of the Zus platform • Build tools that interact with external health data networks to collect information about our patients and load it into the Zus data stores at high volume • Work on data pipelines that operate on large scale data using a variety of AWS services (Step Functions, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, etc) • Work on RESTful services that are used both internally and externally • Deploy, maintain, and operate its pipelines and services

What we’re looking for We’re seeking a seasoned, technically sophisticated Director of Sales Engineering & Solution Design to join our early leadership team and help bring the Zus platform to life for prospects and customers.In this role, you’ll lead and grow a small team of Sales Engineers while remaining deeply hands-on in solution design, technical discovery, and complex pre-sales engagements. You’ll own how customers technically evaluate, integrate with, and adopt the Zus platform.You’ll partner closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to define best practices, influence the roadmap, and ensure Zus delivers real, measurable value to customers across healthcare. As part of our team, you will - Lead, mentor, and manage a small team of Sales Engineers, setting clear expectations, coaching on technical depth and customer engagement, and helping the team scale - Personally drive solution design and technical architecture for complex, high-impact prospects in a healthcare setting - Own and execute the technical pre-sales motion, from discovery through proof-of-concept and handoff to post-sale teams - Deliver and oversee technical demos and executive-level presentations to audiences ranging from engineers to C-suite stakeholders - Design and validate customer integrations with Zus APIs, healthcare data models, and interoperability standards - Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex integrations, edge cases, and customer challenges - Develop and standardize implementation patterns, reference architectures, and technical best practices - Partner with Product and Engineering to translate customer feedback into product improvements and roadmap input - Ensure a smooth, well-documented handoff from pre-sales to Customer Success and Implementation - Collaborate cross-functionally to improve go-to-market strategy, technical enablement, and sales effectiveness - Balance leadership with execution—jumping in wherever needed to help the team and the company move fast You're a good fit because - 6+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or Technical Implementation, including experience in healthtech or healthcare data platforms - Prior experience managing or mentoring a small technical team, with a hands-on leadership style - Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing solutions using RESTful APIs, healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, C-CDA, HL7), and EMR data - Proficiency in SQL and comfort working directly with complex healthcare data models - Demonstrated ability to design end-to-end solutions that balance technical feasibility, customer needs, and business outcomes - Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders - A customer-first mindset and a passion for building trusted technical partnerships - Comfort operating in ambiguity and building structure in an early-stage environment - Calm, adaptable, and effective when navigating complex or high-pressure situations $150,000 - $200,000 a year This person will have a variable bonus based on quarterly incentive targets.
