Role Description Willow Wealth is seeking a talented and conversion-focused Website Designer to join us on a contract basis to support an ongoing website redesign. This project touches both content and visuals across the site, and you'll be instrumental in bringing the updated vision to life. You'll translate marketing strategy, including page goals, site architecture, and brand direction, into polished, high-performing web pages and marketing landing pages. This is a project-based engagement with an estimated effort of 20-30 hours per week. The team is NYC-based and while remote candidates across the US are welcome to apply, candidates who are able to work East Coast hours are preferred. You’ll collaborate closely with the Creative Designer for design review and with the project's Product Manager to hit milestones and keep work moving day-to-day. You'll work within an established Figma design library and will have the opportunity to extend it thoughtfully, building efficiently so that what you hand off to engineering is clean, consistent, and easy to implement. Key Deliverables - Design website pages and marketing landing pages from brief to final Figma handoff and development support, incorporating goals and strategy provided by the marketing team. - Take inputs including overall website goals, individual page objectives, sitemaps, and conversion strategy and translate them into clear, effective visual designs. - Design fully responsive layouts across desktop, tablet, and mobile breakpoints. - Work within the existing Figma component library, extending and reusing components to maintain visual consistency and minimize engineering effort. - Use advanced Figma features such as components and variants to produce developer-ready, well-organized files. - Collaborate with the Product Manager to manage workload, prioritize pages, and meet project deadlines. - Present work to and incorporate feedback from the Creative Designer to achieve visual sign-off. - Design with conversion in mind, applying best practices for layout, hierarchy, CTAs, and user flow across site pages and landing pages. - Self-manage workload and timelines with minimal oversight, communicating proactively when priorities shift or blockers arise. - Participate in design reviews and iterate quickly based on feedback from marketing, creative, product, and engineering stakeholders. - Ability to contribute copy edits or suggestions where needed a plus. Qualifications - 5+ years of experience designing websites and marketing landing pages, with a portfolio that reflects senior-level craft and strategic thinking. - Demonstrated ability to self-manage in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment, and to operate independently and navigate corporate stakeholder dynamics with professionalism. - A strong portfolio showing web and landing page design work, ideally with evidence of conversion performance, A/B testing, or measurable outcomes. - Experience working within and contributing to design systems or component libraries. - Prior experience collaborating across creative, marketing, and product teams. - Advanced Figma skills including components, variants, and structured file organization. - Strong command of responsive design, with the ability to design across desktop, tablet, and mobile breakpoints without sacrificing quality or consistency. - Proven ability to design for conversion, designing landing pages, CTAs, user flows, and visual hierarchy that drives action. - Ability to work efficiently within a component-based system to reduce redundant engineering work. - Strong visual design sensibility (i.e. typography, spacing, color, and layout) within defined brand constraints. - Comfortable working from a brief and collaborating with non-designers to extract what's needed. - Clear and confident communicator who can present and defend design decisions to a range of stakeholders, from creative leads to business owners. Preferred Qualifications - Familiarity with WordPress, particularly for teams managing an existing blog or content infrastructure. - Experience working within or alongside financial services companies, fintech products, or similarly regulated and detail-oriented industries. - Experience with copywriting. - Experience at a mid-stage startup. Compensation The pay range for this engagement is USD 100-150 per hour commensurate with experience, qualifications, and location.
