Role Description You've run Kubernetes in production long enough to know the difference between using a cluster and owning one. Maybe you're part of a large platform team where you only ever see your slice. Here, you'd see all of it: our Platform Engineering team is small and senior, building and running the infrastructure that Yazio's Backend and Data Engineering teams deploy to every day. We're hiring a Senior Platform Engineer to help us run that platform and push it further toward cloud-native. This role is 100% remote and open to candidates based in Germany, Spain, Portugal or the UK. Your mission includes: - Run and evolve our Kubernetes landscape (Amazon EKS, plus on-prem clusters via Rancher). Every deployment at Yazio lands on what you operate. - Automate deployment and scaling until releases are a non-event, and guide engineering teams in getting the most out of that automation. - Build out observability so you spot problems before users notice them: metrics, dashboards, alerting. - Dig into infrastructure-level incidents and turn what you find into fixes that stick. - Design the abstractions that let Backend and Data Engineers ship without opening a ticket. - Have a real say in our shift away from the remaining self-hosted infrastructure: what moves to the cloud, what stays and what gets automated away. Qualifications - You've operated Kubernetes in production for years. Upgrades, capacity planning, debugging the cluster itself, not just the workloads running on it. - Observability, GitOps and deployment automation are how you work by default, not extras you bolt on later. - You're at home on a Linux host, and the second time you touch something manual, you automate it. - You know databases (relational and key-value) and networking well enough to reason through a production issue. You don't need to be a DBA or a network engineer; curiosity covers the rest. - Small team, changing priorities, nobody handing you a spec: that sounds like your kind of week. - When you explain a complex technical trade-off, people leave the conversation clearer than they arrived. Requirements - Bonus points for Go (a lot of our tooling is written in it, and so is the Kubernetes ecosystem) or Python beyond simple scripting. - Running self-hosted databases in production, replication and recovery included. - Deep networking knowledge (TLS, TCP/UDP internals). - Operating on-prem Kubernetes with Rancher. • Design and ship the internal tools, automations and platforms that remove bottlenecks across Yazio, owning the full stack from web apps to distributed, async job processing systems • Drive discovery with internal stakeholders, marketing, localization, user success and others, to uncover their biggest bottlenecks and ship tailored solutions that eliminate manual work • Build and scale our AI driven systems, such as our Creative Automation System (automated creative uploads and ad creation) and Content Generation System (production grade AI translations), bringing the latest AI capabilities, LLMs, RAG and agents, into production • Apply cutting edge AI to how you work, using agentic coding and AI assistants to build and ship fast while maintaining a high bar for quality and safety • Make key technical decisions and design robust, distributed and maintainable architectures, including queuing, asynchronous processing and the reliability our automations depend on • Own your work end to end, from scoping and stakeholder alignment through delivery, measurement and iteration, anticipating downstream effects and removing roadblocks proactively • Raise the bar for the team, mentor others in software design and process automation, document clearly and help shape how Yazio adopts new AI technology

• Build, own and drive the monthly close end-to-end, ensuring fast, accurate and well-coordinated financial reporting with Accounting and key stakeholders • Review and sign off on accruals, cut-off entries, reconciliations and reporting packages for Management and FP&A • Act as the primary go-to for technical accounting questions, supporting new business models, contracts and complex accounting treatments • Develop and maintain technical accounting documentation and position papers (for example, revenue recognition, capitalization, leases and other complex topics) • Manage and coordinate external partners including accountants, tax advisors and auditors, ensuring strong documentation quality and smooth collaboration • Continuously strengthen internal controls by spotting anomalies, following up on open items and improving control effectiveness over time • Drive process and system improvements to reduce manual effort, increase close efficiency and build scalable, well-documented workflows • Use AI tools to support analysis, variance explanations, audit preparation and accounting research—while ensuring full critical review and accountability for outputs • Build a modern, scalable finance function through automation, standardization and continuous improvement

• Own Features End-to-End. You take ideas from a technical design to a polished, deployed feature. You are responsible for writing clean, maintainable code, ensuring high quality, and monitoring the impact of your work in production. • Lead Migration to KMP: You assess, document and plan the migration of our complex domain from iOS/Android platform code to KMP-first code—while continuing to ship features to our users. • Integrate AI Features: Together with the backend team, you bring scaleable AI-powered features to the app and evaluate best practices to ensure a great user experience. • Partner with Product and Design. You won't just be handed tickets. You are a key contributor to the *why* and *what* by assessing new technical areas, weighing trade-offs, and helping shape a roadmap that is both ambitious and achievable. • Elevate the Team.
