Role Description Working closely with the Project Manager, acting as Technical Lead on various projects, and supporting the technical capability and production requirements of the projects. Provides exceptional customer service and coordination assistance with internal and external project partners (consultants, contractors, etc.). - Collaborate with the Team lead/ Project Manager/ Engineering Manager in providing our clients with finished projects in a timely manner. - Communicate effectively with the Project Manager; this includes collecting and coordinating useful information. - Modify established standards, devise new approaches, apply existing criteria in new manners, and draw conclusions for comparative situations. - Identify innovative technical approaches to mechanical engineering. - Provide guidance and mentorship to junior teammates, including reviewing reports and ensuring technical standards are met. - Resolve mechanical/construction technical issues, cost implications, and conflicts with contractors. - Provide effective options and solutions to design problems, mitigating WEC’s exposure and protecting client relationships. - Collaborate with Project Manager and Technical Leads to solve interdisciplinary design conflicts. - Collaborate on proposals, may manage proposal writing for clients to whom you are the main contact. - Share expertise with other offices. - May act as client contact. - Support and improve quality control. - Calculate cost opinions, change orders, and earned value. - With proven capability, prepare engineering design, specification and/or recommendations for a variety of the following: - HVAC - Energy analysis - Equipment selection and specification - Fuel systems - High and low pressure piping - Mechanical design details - Plumbing - Sustainable design - Storm and sewer design - Operate independently on routine projects and oversee work plans and procedures on routine projects. - Coordinate with all service lines, extract and relay relevant information for complex projects. - Stamp own project design and reports and that of engineers in training for whom you are providing peer review as appropriate. - Perpetuate, clarify, and embody WEC Purpose and Core Values. - Adhere to the company policies and guidelines as well as the company and client safety policies and practices in effect at any given time. - Have the ability to apply for a Federal security clearance in order to work on institutional projects as required. Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering - P.Eng. Status with appropriate provincial association - 4 – 6 years of experience minimum Requirements - Excellent interpersonal skills; a person who listens well, respects diversity of opinions and has an open, clear and succinct communication style. - Effective organizational and time management skills in handling multiple projects, performing a variety of tasks, and meeting required deadlines. - Ability to represent the company to WEC teammates, clients, and community by ensuring the best image is presented. - Application knowledge of WEC systems and programs (including MS Office 365, SharePoint, Deltek Vision, AutoCAD, Revit MEP). - Ability to calculate cost opinions, change orders, and earned value. - Ability to develop engineering cost proposals. - Ability to identify risks – satisfy client needs/our needs. - Ability to accurately apply codes and regulations. - Understanding of HVAC criteria for industrial projects. - Capability as a technical specialist in energy analysis, equipment selection and specification, fuel systems, high/low pressure piping, and plumbing. - Ability to write reports not requiring significant editing.

Role Description This role calls for an individual who is driven by Purpose and who wants to be a trailblazer in leading Purpose driven projects. - Reports to: Regional Business Manager or Engineering Manager - Based at: Regional Office Position Purpose: - Working closely with other Team Leads, coordinate Service Line teammates and maintain the technical capability and production requirements of the discipline. Specific Responsibilities Include: - Service Line Accountabilities – Workload Management and Engineering Quality - Regional Accountabilities - Client Relationships and Operational Management - Forecast workload for staffing targets and coordinate workload among teammates. - Motivate, train and mentor, and discipline direct reports according to company policies and guidelines. - Provide Technical oversight on single and multi-discipline projects as well as technical expertise and design on projects. - Develop teammate Career Paths and provide performance appraisals, with input from the Engineering Manager. - Share expertise with other offices, maintain technical capability and provide technical expertise on projects. - Assist the Engineering Manager with proposal preparation as required. - Work with others to increase the overall technical capability and efficiency of the service line. - Act as senior client contact for key clients. - Stamp own project design and reports and that of engineers in training for whom you are providing peer review as appropriate. - Adhere to company policies and guidelines as well as the company and client safety policies and practices. - Stay current with changes in own discipline. - Establish basic operating standards, and accomplish objectives in the most economical manner to manage unusual conditions. - Attract new business and collaborate with Project Managers, Engineering Managers, Relationship Managers and Directors to secure large multi-company projects. - Work as the Project Manager, Relationship Manager or Technical Specialist to provide clients with finished projects in a timely manner. - Identify completed projects in your discipline that are eligible for technical awards, ensure projects are submitted. - Exercise independent judgement and decision making to establish work methods and procedures on new or special assignments and projects. - Analyze existing data to forecast business choices regarding budget forecasting, budget variances, client profitability, risk management and report findings to the Engineering Manager or Engineering Director as appropriate. - Understand and participate in resolving issues with cost control, non-recoverable expenditures, and utilization. - Communicate effectively with teammates. - Perpetuate, clarify, and embody WE Purpose and Core Values. - Have the ability to apply for a Federal security clearance in order to work on institutional projects as required. - Teammates in a leadership position are expected to obtain their Leadership in Safety Excellence certificate as part of their role with WE. Qualifications - May hold or be working towards a P.Eng., C.E.T., or AScT designation. - Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Diploma in Engineering Technology. - Minimum of 8+ years experience under the supervision of a Senior Engineer. - Valid class 5 driver’s license.
