Riverside Plaza, Chicago, IL 60606 JOB DESCRIPTION: Lead the design, modification, testing, implementation, and maintenance of firm software applications. Guide software developers in defining requirements, developing test cases, designing, implementing, and providing support for firm applications. Plan and oversee the execution of large-scale software development projects. Resolve escalated technical issues. Provide guidance to less experienced team members. Collaborate with business partners to develop a detailed understanding of their business needs and determine how software applications can facilitate their business operations or needs. Contribute to the long-term planning of firm applications throughout the software life cycle. Provide subject matter expertise on software development methodologies, tools, system architecture, usage, and functionality. Drive the achievement of key milestones and project objectives. Ensure that software development activities comply with firm standards and procedures. Coordinate the requirements definition and development of test cases for new applications and software modifications. Consult with software developers, IT infrastructure staff, and vendors to implement fixes. Develop and implement changes to procedures or methodologies to prevent future issues. Develop application specific business continuity and disaster recovery plans. Oversee testing and documentation of business continuity plans. Evaluate new technologies and vendors. Recommend direction based on holistic understanding of firm application needs. Monitor industry trends and external developments that may impact firm software application solutions. Ensure all activities follow applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. 100% telecommuting permitted. REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field, plus 7 years of experience as a Software Developer or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Writing and optimizing stored procedures; (2) Utilizing software development methodologies, specifically Agile, and best practices in code management and process; (3) Using Microsoft SQL and server services (including SSRS, SSIS, SSAS); (4) Managing IT project rollouts to end users; (5) Working with outside teams and senior management; and (6) Writing documentation to be consumed across teams and business units. RATE OF PAY: $153,317 per year BENEFITS: This role is eligible for either a discretionary annual bonus (based on company, business unit and individual performance) and/or commission-based incentives.
