Role Description We are growing our Vialto Private practice and seeking an experienced Director to advise globally mobile high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) on complex U.S. and international tax matters. As a key leader in our Private Tax team, you will provide strategic tax guidance, mentor junior talent, and contribute to the expansion of our cross-border practice. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in U.S. individual income tax, international reporting, trust planning, and cross-border estate/gift taxation. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded tax professional to help shape a modern, high-touch advisory offering. Key Responsibilities - Client Delivery & Technical Oversight - Serve as lead tax advisor for a portfolio of HNWI clients with international exposure. - Deliver customized planning for pre-immigration, expatriation, foreign trusts, inbound investments, and global estate structures. - Review complex U.S. tax filings and international information returns (e.g., Forms 3520/A, 5471, 8865, 8858, 8621, 8938, 1041, etc.). - Provide tax risk management and ensure quality standards on client work. - Team Leadership & Development - Supervise and mentor senior managers and other staff across locations. - Support the firm’s training, development, and retention strategy for PCS professionals. - Practice Expansion - Cultivate relationships with attorneys, private banks, wealth advisors, and other key intermediaries. - Contribute to thought leadership and external visibility through events, whitepapers, or webinars. Qualifications - CPA, EA, or JD with a strong international tax background; MST or LLM a plus. - Minimum 8–10 years of U.S. private client tax experience with international complexity. - Demonstrated experience with foreign trust structures, U.S. estate/gift tax planning, and cross-border compliance. - Leadership experience in managing client relationships and mentoring staff. - Business development experience and/or strong external network preferred. As part of our Global People Team, we are seeking an experienced APAC Regional Benefits Leader to provide regional ownership, strategic leadership, and governance across one of Vialto’s most complex and fast-growing regions. Position Overview The APAC Regional Benefits Leader is the senior regional owner responsible for the strategy, design, governance, and delivery of employee benefits and wellbeing programs across APAC (approximately 13 countries). This role goes beyond program administration. The Senior Manager will: - Act as the primary decision-maker for APAC benefits, - Serve as a strategic partner to HR, Finance, Legal, and external advisors, and - Provide direction to vendors and internal teams to ensure market competitiveness, regulatory compliance, cost discipline, and a consistent employee experience. The role is critical in reducing escalation to HQ, guiding the broker and other vendors effectively, and enabling APAC leadership through data-driven insights and recommendations. Key Responsibilities Regional Benefits Strategy & Governance - Own and drive the APAC regional benefits strategy, aligned with Vialto’s global Total Rewards philosophy. - Translate global principles into regionally appropriate, market-competitive solutions. - Identify gaps, risks, and opportunities across APAC and proactively recommend solutions. - Serve as the regional authority for benefits-related decisions, minimizing ad hoc escalation. Program Design, Optimization & Market Alignment - Lead the design and continuous optimization of benefits programs including health & wellbeing, retirement, life, disability, statutory leave, and region-specific benefits. - Conduct and interpret market benchmarking to ensure competitiveness across APAC markets. - Balance employee experience, compliance, and cost considerations when recommending changes. Vendor & Financial Management - Act as the senior point of contact for brokers, insurers, TPAs, and consultants across APAC. - Lead or support RFPs, renewals, contract negotiations, and performance management. - Partner closely with Finance to: - manage regional benefits budgets, - assess cost drivers, and - support forecasting and financial governance. Compliance, Risk & Regulatory Leadership - Ensure compliance with complex APAC statutory and regulatory requirements (e.g., CPF, EPF, superannuation, mandatory insurance and leave frameworks). - Monitor evolving legislation and assess impacts proactively. - Partner with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure audit readiness and risk mitigation. Stakeholder Partnership & Communication - Act as a trusted advisor to APAC HRBPs and regional leaders. - Lead regional communications related to benefits changes, open enrollment, and employee education. - Provide guidance and training to HR and Tier 1 support teams to improve first-contact resolution and reduce escalations. Data, Insights & Executive Reporting - Analyze utilization, cost, and employee sentiment data to inform recommendations. - Develop clear, executive-ready insights for Global Benefits leadership and APAC stakeholders. - Support enterprise initiatives such as PwC vs. Vialto benefits comparisons, M&A integrations, and global harmonization efforts. Global Collaboration & Enterprise Initiatives - Collaborate with Benefits leaders in EMEA and the Americas to align global programs and share best practices. - Contribute to global wellbeing initiatives, technology enhancements (e.g., Workday), and operating model improvements. - Serve as a thought partner on emerging benefits trends and innovation. Qualifications Education - Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. - CEBS, IFEBP Global Certification, or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred. Experience - 10–12+ years of progressive experience in employee benefits within a multinational, matrixed organization. - Demonstrated regional ownership of benefits across multiple APAC countries. - Proven experience influencing senior stakeholders and operating with limited supervision. - Strong track record of vendor governance, compliance management, and strategic program design. Skills & Competencies - Strategic, systems-level thinker with strong judgment and decision-making capability. - Ability to operate independently as a regional owner while aligning to global strategy. - Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills. - Financial acumen with ability to assess trade-offs and cost implications. - High resilience, professionalism, and accountability in a fast-paced environment. - Multi-lingual capability (e.g., Mandarin, Hindi, Japanese, or other APAC languages) is a strong plus.
