Sales Representative/ Business Development Remote Status: Hybrid Job Id: 4245 This position has Remote Capabilities Purpose: - Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a full-time Sales Representative within our Corrosion Control Operations to manage and expand strategic customer relationships within the Corrosion Control segment, ensuring that business objectives for growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction are consistently achieved. - The Sales Representative is a revenue-generating sales role responsible for developing, managing, and growing sales within an assigned geographic territory. The Sales Representative is expected to identify opportunities, close sales, and develop a repeat base of purchasing customers. - This role carries direct sales responsibility and commission eligibility. Success is measured by the representative’s ability to generate revenue, build a qualified customer base, and execute a disciplined territory sales plan. Job Description: - Sales Execution and Revenue Generation - Actively close sales within the assigned territory in accordance with approved pricing and commercial guidelines. - Generate revenue through direct customer engagement, distributor-supported sales, and approved sales channels. - Earn commission on closed sales, with total compensation increasing directly with performance. - Customer and Account Development - Develop and maintain a working list of active purchasing customers within the territory. - Establish repeat business through ongoing customer engagement and opportunity follow-up. - Build familiarity with customer purchasing processes, buying cycles, and application needs. - Target Account and Territory Planning - Develop a target account list in collaboration with sales management. - Prioritize accounts based on revenue potential, strategic value, and market focus. - Execute a territory sales plan designed to convert target accounts into active customers - Opportunity Identification and Pipeline Management - Provide regular updates to sales management regarding territory activity, distributor engagement, and opportunity status. - Identify, qualify, and advance new sales opportunities independently after training. - Maintain a documented and qualified sales pipeline within the company CRM system. - Forecast opportunities accurately and manage follow-ups to drive closure. - Distributor and Channel Engagement - Work with distributors and resellers to support product adoption and local sales activity. - Assist with converting specified or recommended products into contractor and owner purchases. - Support distributor-led opportunities while maintaining accountability for personal sales results. - Re-engage and redevelop relationships with existing but inactive or underperforming distributors, working to restore purchasing activity through renewed engagement, product education, and opportunity development. - Cross-Territory Collaboration and Specification Development - Work cohesively with other members of the S2S commercial team to support coordinated territory execution. - Collaborate with sales leadership and peers to develop product specifications with owners, engineers, and influencers. - Support cross-territorial business opportunities where customer relationships, specifications, or projects span multiple territories. - Share market intelligence, specification activity, and opportunity insights to support broader sales team success. - Participate in company-sponsored or customer-sponsored trade shows, conferences, and industry events as required to support sales activity, customer engagement, and market development. - Technical Service and Customer Support - Conduct all field activities in accordance with customer site requirements, safety guidelines, and company policies. - Provide basic technical service assistance to customers, distributors, contractors, and end users, including product application guidance, system selection support, and general troubleshooting. - Serve as the first point of contact for routine field and application questions, escalating complex technical issues to senior sales or technical resources as appropriate. - Support product trials, demonstrations, and field evaluations in coordination with distributors and customers. - Reinforce proper product use and system expectations to support successful outcomes and repeat business. Qualifications: - Must have a Bachelor's degree or 3 top 5 years relevant experience, in lieu of degree additional years will suffice. - Must have corrosion control and/or coatings sales experience is a plus. - Must have commercial marine or Shipyard Experience a plus - Must have strong computer, business software, communication and interpersonal skills. - Must have willingness to learn technical products and industrial markets. - Must have ability to travel up to 60% of time within an assigned territory as required. - Must be self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working toward performance goals. Security Requirements: - Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Travel Requirements: - Travel up to 60%. - If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID.
