Role Description The Customer Support Specialist plays a vital role within our Operations team. This position is responsible for ensuring timely delivery of customer shipments, maintaining daily communication, and building strong relationships with both customers and carriers. This is an overnight position. Candidates must be available to work overnight hours on a consistent basis. What the Candidate Will Do - Use Transportation Management System to process shipment entries and actively lead timely performance/automation objectives. - Maintain consistent and professional communication; effective, prompt and courteous communications with respect to difficult situations, relaying service failures, etc. - Exceed customer on-time pick-up and delivery expectations. - Supervise shipments and revise when vital based on changing shipper, customer, and carrier needs. - Utilize external websites and other tools of communication to set shipment appointments. - Update load status in the system, e.g. loaded pick-up, delivery, empty, etc. - Work directly with Logistics Teams to assist with shipment issues or problem-solving. - Schedule appointments with shipper and/or receiver, update the TMS as needed. - Contact carrier to obtain status of load-tendered; continue monitoring the shipment for on-time pick-up, transit, delivered, empty. - Correspond with customer and carrier regarding detention and other accessorial information. - Acquire solid understanding of customer business practices and workflow. Qualifications - High school diploma or GED equivalent. - 0-1 years of customer service experience. - Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.). - Clear and professional oral and written communication skills, including email etiquette. Role Description As a After Hours Carrier Sales Representative II, you are a key contributor to Uber Freight's business by generating and maintaining carrier relationships. You will be eligible to earn a monthly bonus, in addition to your base salary, in your first full calendar month and enjoy working in a fast-paced, sales environment. Schedule: Wednesday-Sunday 4:00pm-12:00am CST What the Candidate Will Do - Establish relationships, negotiate, and develop carriers regularly via phone and email to develop core and dedicated carriers specific to expedite freight. - Ensure customer satisfaction and extremely high service levels where freight is picked up and delivered on time using safe, reliable carriers. - Meet or exceed team financial and individual performance goals. - Develop knowledge of carrier supply and demand, spot market pricing, and factors that impact freight markets. - Carrier profile management - learn carrier requirements, needs, contacts and update carrier profiles regularly. Be an advocate for the carrier on all levels. - Acquire knowledge of freight network/lanes - know what internal freight lanes we run and find carriers that match these lanes. - Secure capacity, monitor and update shipment status, communicate with carriers/shippers/receivers, handle rescheduling, detention, and issue ComChecks as needed. - Onboard vendors/locations, maintain TMS data (rates, fuel surcharge), and oversee accounts receivable within guidelines. Qualifications - Minimum of 1-2+ years of professional experience in a sales/cold call setting or related experience. - Track and trace experience in a logistics environment. Requirements - Related experience in transportation and/or logistics. - Bachelors Degree preferred. - Excellent negotiation and communication skills. - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Uber Freight is looking for an experienced Executive Assistant Business Partner in the Chicago region to support executives within the Tech and Supply & Marketplace departments and provide complex executive support to the organization's leaders.
