Role Description The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) serves as a primary technical point of contact for TrellisWare’s customers, supporting the Business Development Team and overall business growth by: - Providing pre-sales, post-sales, and customer support for all TrellisWare product offerings both onsite and remotely. - Offering custom-tailored communications solutions for specific customer systems. - Generating new applications of products by collaborating with end users, vendors, and the internal product development team. - Identifying and resolving customer issues with TrellisWare products and features. - Adapting standard TSM product offerings to specific customer use cases. - Providing technical support to help customers understand advanced features of TrellisWare’s products. - Identifying risks in fielded products or products under development that could negatively impact customers. - Supporting the product development process by providing Voice of the Customer (VoC) input. - Communicating needed feature changes or updates to the Product Management Team. - Providing feedback on field operation of TrellisWare products to stakeholders. - Delivering lessons learned in the field to improve design and development. - Clarifying customer expectations and use case profiles for product design and documentation. - Consulting and providing technical support to sales and business development leads. - Conducting field demonstrations, product training, and integration with third-party accessories. - Crafting and delivering technical presentations of TrellisWare offerings. - Developing relationships with team members built on trust and respect. - Performing other related duties as assigned. Qualifications - Four-year technical degree or military-related service experience equivalent. - Minimum of 7 years of related experience in the market or technology segments identified; 10+ years preferred. - Demonstrated track record in fielding, integration, and troubleshooting networked communications products. - Experience in UK Special Forces, British Army, Royal Marines, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, and/or commercial specialty communications communities is highly desired. Requirements - Strong understanding of IP data including addressing schemes, IP switches/router interface, gateway functionality, TCP/UDP protocols. - In-depth understanding of Military and Public Safety tactical network infrastructure. - Demonstrated strong documentation skills and proficiency with PC office applications. - Ability to integrate communications products with customer systems and maximize network performance. - Ability to understand complex communication and engineering concepts and explain them simply. - In-depth understanding of design, manufacturing, testing, and sales procedures for handheld, manpack, and embedded radio products. - Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and fix network performance issues. - Ability to work independently and interact with various engineering development teams. - Demonstrated professionalism in customer-facing field events. - Strong collaborative drive and interpersonal skills. - Strong initiative, proactive work ethic, and prioritization skills. - Trustworthy judgment and analytical problem-solving skills. - Effective execution and decision-making. - Champion of change and innovation. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. Additional Requirements - Must have the legal right to live and work in the UK and provide evidence upon request. - This role is open only to sole UK nationals eligible to obtain and maintain UK security clearance. - Must have the ability to travel 50-75% of the time domestically and internationally. Employment Terms and Requirements - The successful candidate will be employed through our Employer of Record (EOR) partner in the UK. - This is a full-time position approved for remote work within the UK, except when travel is required. - Employees must reside in the UK and have the legal right to work throughout their employment. - This role may require working hours outside standard local business hours due to collaboration with U.S. headquarters. Physical Demands - Able to frequently sit, stand, walk, use hands to fingers, handle or feel, reach within hands and arm’s length, stoop, kneel, and crouch. - Regularly required to sit and stand for extended periods; frequently required to use office equipment. - Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 5 kilograms, frequently lift and/or move up to 12 kilograms, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 23 kilograms. - Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
