Role Description The Rates & Forms Specialist supports the development, implementation, and regulatory compliance of title insurance rates, rules, and policy forms across multiple jurisdictions. This role ensures alignment between regulatory filings, underwriting guidance, and operational systems by maintaining accurate rates, forms, and documentation. This position is well-suited for a self-reliant and analytical professional seeking to build expertise in insurance compliance, product development, and regulatory filings within a highly regulated environment. Key Responsibilities - Regulatory Filings & Compliance: - Prepare, review, and submit rate, rule, and form filings in accordance with state DOI requirements and filing standards. - Research regulatory updates and compare filings to existing policies, forms, and endorsements. - Draft regulator-facing responses to objections, including supporting documentation and revisions. - Maintain audit-ready records and documentation supporting all filing activity. - Rates & Forms Analysis & Management: - Assist in the development and maintenance of rate manuals, underwriting guidelines, and policy forms. - Perform document comparisons and redlining to track changes in policy language and coverage. - Utilize rating manuals to calculate premium rates and ensure accuracy of pricing structures. - Ensure consistency between approved filings and operational usage across systems. - Systems Implementation & Data Integrity: - Translate approved rates and forms into system configurations (e.g., rating engines, calculators, production platforms). - Update web-based premium calculators and internal systems with approved rate and form changes. - Perform testing, mapping, and validation of rates, forms, and endorsements in production systems. - Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve discrepancies, including calculation errors and mapping issues. - Quality Control & Vendor Oversight: - Review policies, rate schedules, and deliverables from third-party vendors for accuracy. - Identify and document discrepancies between vendor outputs and approved internal source materials. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: - Partner with Legal, Underwriting, Finance, and Product teams to support filings, implementation, and product development. - Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding rates, forms, and regulatory requirements. - Documentation, Reporting & Process Improvement: - Maintain detailed documentation of filing processes, rate logic, and form changes to support audit readiness. - Monitor filing timelines, approval statuses, and implementation progress. - Identify compliance risks or gaps and recommend corrective actions. - Assist in developing and enhancing procedures to improve efficiency, accuracy, and regulatory defensibility. Qualifications - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), including data analysis and document comparison/redlining. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy. - Process-oriented mindset with a focus on documentation and audit readiness. - Effective communication skills for regulator-facing and internal correspondence. - Ability to collaborate across departments and manage multiple priorities. - Must be able to prioritize according to departmental guidelines, have a high level of organization, ability to consistently meet deadlines, work with constantly changing priorities, demonstrate strong delivery, and follow procedures/processes. Role Description Provide underwriting support, answers and guidance to customers and internal departments on real estate closings and title insurance matters and determine the Company's willingness and ability to insure real estate transactions. The ability to provide underwriting support in additional jurisdictions is a plus. - Establish relationships with new customers and maintain and grow relationships with existing customers. - Support and assist with business development efforts, including attendance on customer visits and networking events. - Create and deliver relevant educational topics at live seminars and webinars. - Assist with audits as needed. Qualifications - A Juris Doctorate Degree from an ABA approved law school. - A licensed attorney in good standing in the state in which the position is being sought. - Must be located in or local to the state in which the position is being sought. - 3-10 years of title insurance experience or real estate experience. - Knowledge of title insurance rates and rules for the state in which the position is being sought. - Ability to discuss and respond in writing to proposed requests for coverage to determine potential risks. - Ability to suggest and provide adequate language in title commitments, policies, and endorsements that will protect the Company's interests while assisting the Company’s agents. - Ability to prepare and deliver relevant live, web-based, or recorded educational presentations to or for the Company’s customers. - Ability to support the development of new customers. - This is a remote position where working from home is a common practice. - Occasional travel is required. Role Description The National Commercial Closer plays a key role in managing and facilitating complex commercial real estate transactions nationwide. This position works closely with TRG agents, lenders, and internal teams to coordinate the closing process, ensuring transactions are executed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards. - Communicate and work closely with internal team, TRG agents, and lenders to accomplish funding and disbursements of closed transactions in a timely, efficient and error-free manner. - Review escrow closing instructions and have authority to sign on behalf of TRG as they relate to funding/disbursements of funds. - Verify wire instructions for accuracy and security. - Obtain approval from lenders, ordering updates and determining clearance to fund/disburse with lenders and TRG agents. - Coordinate multi-site, multi-state commercial transactions from order entry through policy issuance and income recognition. - Improve processes and procedures for the national disbursement desk and commercial closing operations. - Support TRG Agency Department as an advisor, consultant, and educator to TRG Agents on proper escrow procedures and software systems. - Advise underwriting and claims counsel as to practical issues and industry-common procedures in the escrow process. - Work closely with Agency Department to increase customer base. Qualifications - A High School diploma or equivalent is required - Minimum of 10 years’ experience in escrow required - Technical and confident knowledge of the closing process is required - Escrow branch manager experience a plus - Ability and experience to balance a closing statement by hand is required - Prior escrow training experience preferred, but not required - Experience with a leading closing software system required (such as RamQuest, SoftPro, ResWare, Qualia, etc.) - Great communication and customer-oriented skills required - Patience is required - Problem-solving skills required - Microsoft Office proficient - Position is remote.
