Role Description Are you a football fan who loves data and has an eye for detail? If so, you might be the perfect candidate for the Next Gen Stats Data Quality Engineer Lead position. Next Gen Stats is the NFL’s player tracking initiative that uses advanced technology to capture real-time data and statistics from every player in every play. As a DQE Lead, you will work with the game day data quality team acting as level 2 support monitoring multiple live games and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the data. You will also work closely with the NGS engineering team and use web-based tools to make any necessary changes to the data or video mapping. NOTE: This is a remote position that requires availability on game days for the entire NFL season (Aug-Feb). - Review and verify data on all plays during live games - Ensure all plays have data and video mapped properly and adjust accordingly - Confirm player participation on a play-by-play basis - Confirm all advanced statistics are created post play - Make necessary changes to data when incorrect using in house developed web-based tools - Identify and document issues and their resolutions in a runbook - Work with engineers to enhance in house tools to be able to fix all issues Qualifications - Must have worked in an NGS Game Day role for 2+ seasons - Strong football knowledge - Must be computer savvy (Chrome, Slack, Google Docs/Sheets, Zoom, etc.) - Detail-oriented and reliable - Strong problem solving and analytical skills Requirements - Hands on experience with data manipulation a plus - This is a remote position. - Must be available to work game days during preseason (Thu-Sun) and Sundays during regular season. - A reliable internet connection is required, everything else will be supplied. - Candidates must be available for all 18 Sundays during regular season. - Weekday regular season games will be divided among the Game Day Leads. - All applicants must be eligible to work in the United States. No relocation or visa sponsorship is available for this position. Terms / Expected Hours of Work - 4-8 hours per Game Day Salary This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range. - $30 — $30 USD
