Role Description The Gender & Sexuality Therapy Center (G&STC) is a group private practice offering competent and knowledgeable psychotherapy for adolescents, adults, partnerships, and families in Midtown and remotely in NY state. We're currently accepting applications on a rolling basis for fee-for-service psychotherapists with a strong preference for full-time positions (25 completed sessions per week). G&STC specializes in gender, sexuality, and relationships, and provides a range of services, including psychotherapy, supervision, workshops, and consultation. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY FOR: - LMSW/LCSW/MHC-LP/LMHC seeking experience and to advance their clinical skills in a private setting - LMHC/LCSW who are interested in working privately, but don’t want to independently manage the administrative side of private practice - LMSW/LCSW/MHC/LMHC who are interested in working privately, but not ready or interested to be in a solo practice - LMSW/LCSW/MHC/LMHC who want to work in a group practice environment with a community of other clinicians - LMSW/MHC who want to accrue clinical hours in a private setting - LMHC/LCSW who wants to expand their competence regarding working with LGBTQ+, kinky, and non-monogamous folks, sex workers, and with sexual-related issues such as sexual anxiety, sexual pain, sexual functioning, and sexual compulsive behavior - A queer, trans, kinky and/or poly therapist looking to work within their community and develop a professional therapeutic practice under the supervision and guidance - A queer, trans, kinky and/or poly therapist interested in providing Couples and Relationship Therapy DUTIES: - Phone consultations - Full-time position: Provides psychotherapy services to a caseload minimum of ~28-30 clients, including individuals, couples, partnerships with 3+ people, and families. Full time is considered 25 completed sessions per week. Smaller caseloads of 20-24 may be possible - Part-time position: Provides psychotherapy services to a caseload minimum of ~18, including individuals, couples, partnerships with 3+ people, and families - Maintains case notes, logs, and all required documentation - Provide group therapy, as needed - Blog writing 4x/year, optional - Participates in weekly/biweekly individual supervision, weekly group clinical supervision available - Assists in the creation and implementation of G&STC workshops, training, and seminars, as opportunities arise - Marketing tasks for self and G&STC, as needed/interested Qualifications - Possess an LMSW, LCSW, LCSW-R, MHC, or LMHC and be licensed in New York - Resides in NY or NJ - Commit to a minimum of 3 years with G&STC - Education, training, and demonstrated success in implementing modalities, such as CBT, IFS, mindfulness treatments, trauma-informed practices, somatic treatments, and psychodynamic psychotherapy - Excellent written and spoken communication skills - At least 1 year of experience in assessment, treatment planning, and providing psychotherapy - At least 1 year of experience in providing individual, couples, multiple-partner relationships, and/or family therapy - At least 1 year of experience in providing therapy to LGBTQ+, kinky, and non-monogamous individuals - At least 1 year of experience in providing therapy for sexual-related issues such as sexual anxiety, sexual functioning, sexual pain, and compulsive sexual behaviors - Must have a high level of competence with gender, sex, and sexuality - Organized and able to submit progress notes and respond to emails in a timely manner, and in accordance with G&STC policies Benefits - Autonomy and support to create a caseload working with issues and topics that are engaging and meaningful - Referrals and assistance in building a caseload that reflects your professional goals - Flexible scheduling - Ability to work remotely - Minimal paperwork - Collegial, team-oriented, and supportive work environment - Individual and group supervision available - Education and supervision regarding how to practice clinical social work in the private sphere - Blog writing benefit, as needed - Opportunities for growth (i.e., supervisory positions) Company Description To learn more about G&STC, our therapists, and the current available positions please visit GStherapycenter.com .
