Role Description This is a defined-scope, 90-day independent contractor engagement to support a specific business development initiative within the Sleep Media division. The contractor will operate independently, set their own schedule and methods, and deliver against the project scope outlined below. The engagement is fully remote and is not a salaried or employment role. Project Scope - Develop a qualified prospect database of advertisers across target verticals (pharma, GLP-1, digital health, telehealth, mattress and bedding, sleep technology, and adjacent health and wellness categories), with contacts loaded into our CRM. - Design and execute outbound email sequences against the prospect database. - Produce vertical-specific pitch decks adapted from templates. - Re-engage cold and lapsed prospects to surface qualified opportunities. - Deliver qualified, meeting-ready opportunities for handoff to the Sleep Media commercial team. - Provide a written summary of activity and pipeline contribution each week. Working Arrangement - The contractor sets their own hours and work location. - Estimated effort is approximately 20–25 hours per week, not to exceed 30 hours in any given week. - The contractor uses their own equipment and tools, with access provided to Sleep Doctor’s CRM and asset library as needed to perform the contracted work. - Sleep Doctor will designate a point of contact for asset access, collateral handoff, and milestone reviews. - The contractor is not subject to day-to-day supervision and is responsible for determining how the work is performed. Qualifications - 3+ years of demonstrated experience in media sales, ad sales, or business development, ideally in digital publishing, health and wellness, or programmatic. - Proven track record of independent outbound prospecting with measurable pipeline results. - Working proficiency with CRM platforms (Zoho, HubSpot, Salesforce, or comparable) and Google Workspace. - Strong written communication; outbound copy is a core deliverable. - Ability to independently produce sales collateral in Google Slides. - Self-directed contractor with experience operating against project scope rather than employer direction. - Bonus: existing relationships in pharma, supplements, mattress, or telehealth verticals. Compensation This is an independent contractor engagement compensated at a fixed project rate of $18,000, paid in three milestone installments over the 90-day engagement (30, 60, and 90 days), tied to delivery against the project scope above. As an independent contractor, the contractor is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and any business expenses. This engagement does not include benefits, paid time off, or employment status. Role Description The Outbound Specialist is responsible for driving the top of the sales funnel by identifying, prospecting, and qualifying new physician groups, clinics (e.g., Cardiology, Primary Care, Neurology, Functional), and practices. This outbound role requires a persistent, professional, and articulate individual who is comfortable engaging decision-makers in the healthcare and corporate sectors to schedule qualified discovery calls and handoffs to Account Executive. - Execute high-volume outbound activities, including cold calling, personalized email campaigns, and social selling to target sleep specialists, referring physicians, and relevant B2B stakeholders. - Help research and identify target accounts within specified territories and verticals that align with the company's ideal client profile (ICP). - Assist in developing and articulating a compelling value proposition tailored to the specific needs and challenges of physician practices and corporate clients. - Qualify leads based on established criteria to ensure a high quality of handoffs. - Successfully book and confirm introductory meetings and product demonstrations for Account Executives. - Maintain meticulous records of all prospecting activities, account information, and lead status updates within the CRM system (e.g., Zoho). - Collaborate closely with the Marketing and Product team to optimize email sequences, call scripts, and content for maximum engagement. - Provide continuous feedback to the Sales leadership team on the effectiveness of outreach strategies and market reception. Qualifications - 1-2 years of proven success in a Business Development Representative, Sales Development Representative, or related outbound sales role. - Demonstrated comfort and professionalism in high-volume cold calling and prospecting to senior-level decision-makers. - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex health or technology concepts clearly and concisely. - High level of proficiency with CRM software and sales engagement tools. - Goal-oriented, highly motivated, and capable of working independently to meet and exceed monthly quotas. - Previous sales experience within the healthcare, medical device, diagnostics, or B2B SaaS industry. - Familiarity with the sleep medicine ecosystem, including common terminology and referral pathways. Benefits - Compensation Range: $50,000 - 60,000/yr plus commission. Note that final compensation is subject to the candidate’s specific qualifications and location, as well as the needs of the company. - The Company currently provides medical, vision, and dental insurance with 100% of the employee medical, vision, and dental premiums covered by the Company. - Option to participate in both a medical FSA and dependent care FSA. - 401(k) plan, with fully matching contributions up to 3% of salary and 50% matching from 3% to 5% of salary. - Eligible for Paid Time Off in accordance with the company’s policies. - Seattle-based employees will receive commuter benefits.
