Role Description The Community Liaison Officer will play a key role in strengthening relationships between Sign Language Interactions / SignVideo and the Deaf communities across Northern Ireland. You will act as a trusted representative and advocate, ensuring that community voices are heard and that our services are accessible, relevant, and responsive to local needs. You will support the promotion and delivery of a range of services, including: - SignVideo’s Community Directory - The Blended Service in Northern Ireland, offering both a Video Relay Service and Face-to-Face Interpreting for HSCNI - Other services provided by the company This is a dynamic and outward-facing role that requires excellent communication skills, cultural awareness, and a deep understanding of the Deaf community’s needs. Qualifications - Enthusiastic, collaborative, and adaptable with a proactive approach to community engagement. - Proficient in British Sign Language (BSL) and Irish Sign Language (ISL). - Demonstrated experience working within or alongside the Deaf community. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences. - IT-savvy – MS Office. Requirements - Act as a liaison between SignVideo and the Deaf communities in Northern Ireland, building trust and fostering engagement. - Promote Sign Language Interactions / SignVideo services through community outreach, events, and digital platforms. - Deliver tailored presentations and training sessions both Face-to-Face and Remote to: - Deaf community members - Health and Social Care Northern Ireland (HSCNI) staff - Other stakeholders and service providers - Provide one-to-one and group support to users in installing and using SignVideo apps and accessing interpreting services. - Collect and report feedback from service users to inform continuous improvement. - Organise and facilitate workshops, drop-in sessions, and awareness campaigns across Northern Ireland. - Represent Sign Language Interactions when attending community events, forums, and relevant meetings. - Develop accessible resources (e.g., videos, guides, flyers) to support service awareness and usage by collaborating with other internal departments. - Collaborate with internal teams to align community engagement with organisational goals. - Support the implementation of new services and pilot projects in the region. - Work closely with the interpreting department to ensure that all literature and information shared externally is up to date and reflects the current working practices of the company. - Carry out additional duties as required by your line manager. Role Description The Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the organisation adheres to all applicable regulatory, legal, and quality accreditation requirements, as part of the existing compliance team, supporting an established and experienced Compliance Specialist, and provides guidance and oversight to the wider team. The role supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of compliance frameworks, with a strong focus on maintaining and improving ISO standards, conducting internal audits, and supporting the due diligence processes as a key contributor. The position also contributes to risk management, policy governance, and compliance reporting, while acting as a key liaison with auditors and external bodies. It plays a critical role in promoting a culture of compliance, risk awareness, and continuous improvement across the business. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in conducting and completing due diligence assessments on third parties and customers to ensure compliance and mitigate operational and reputational risk. Qualifications - Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a dedicated compliance role. - In-depth knowledge and firsthand experience managing ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, and ISO 18841 standards in a small-to-medium-sized organisation. - Proven record of contributing to successful accreditation or certification processes, including auditor-facing responsibilities, for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 27001. - Experience working with GDPR and related data privacy requirements. - Knowledge of PCI-DSS compliance is desirable. - Experience and understanding of Business Continuity Planning (BCP) principles and practices. - Strong collaborator with excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills. - High standard of written English and ability to produce clear, concise documentation. - Initiative-taking, able to take initiative, and work independently with minimal supervision. - Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to work. - Flexible, pragmatic, and solutions-focused problem-solving abilities. - Experience working remotely and collaborating effectively in virtual environments. - Highly proficient in MS Office applications. - Ability to communicate in British Sign Language is advantageous but not essential. Requirements - Conduct due diligence assessments on third parties and customers to ensure compliance and mitigate operational and reputational risk. - Maintain and continuously improve organisational policies, procedures, and controls relating to information security, data privacy, quality assurance, and business continuity. - Ensure effective implementation of policies and controls to support compliant, ethical, and efficient business operations. - Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance and operational risks, maintaining risk registers and control frameworks. - Lead internal audits and support external audits, ensuring findings are documented, tracked, resolved, and reported appropriately. - Provide guidance and support to colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders (including Sales and Operations) on compliance requirements, policies, and best practices. - Respond proactively and in a timely manner to internal and external compliance information requests. - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices, implementing improvements where required. - Maintain accurate and comprehensive compliance records and documentation. - Advise senior management on regulatory, risk, and compliance matters, and prepare regular compliance reports highlighting key risks, issues, and recommended actions. - Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and compliance, and foster a culture of compliance, risk awareness, and collaboration across the organisation.
