Role Description SCM Group North America is seeking a driven, Technical Field Sales Representative to expand market presence and generate new business within a defined territory. This role is for a true hunter—someone who thrives on prospecting, turning leads into sales, and building customer relationships. This position will support the Colorado / New Mexico territory with regular travel throughout the assigned area. This is an ideal opportunity for a person with background in CNC Machinery, woodworking equipment, or other high-tech capital equipment, looking to expand their career in sales. Key Responsibilities - Prospect and develop new business within assigned territory - Visit customers and prospects to identify needs and opportunities - Build and maintain relationships with end users, dealers, and distributors - Support dealers in driving sales execution and expanding market reach - Identify, qualify, and advance opportunities through the full sales cycle - Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to support solution development - Present and demonstrate equipment and technical capabilities to customers - Lead commercial discussions, negotiate, and close sales - Maintain accurate and up-to-date activity in CRM system - Monitor market trends, competitors, and customer needs Qualifications - 3+ years of experience in capital equipment, CNC machinery, or industrial equipment, to include at least 1 year of sales experience - Hunter mentality with demonstrated skills in prospecting, lead development, and solution selling - Strong mechanical, technical, or engineering aptitude - Experience working with dealers or distributors preferred - Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills - Ability to work independently in a field-based role with regular travel throughout the assigned territory.
