Intake Specialist - Full-time Location: PA-pittsburgh Job Description: Job Title: Intake Specialist Classification: Full-time/Exempt Reports To: Supervisor Compensation Range $33,500 - $45,236 Overview POWER's mission is to help women reclaim their lives from addiction and related emotional health issues and improve the well-being of future generations. We are an agency committed to providing quality gender-responsive, trauma-informed treatment and recovery supportive services to women with substance use and co-occurring disorders. The Intake Specialist is primarily responsible for coordinating all referrals, conducting screenings, making referrals to the appropriate programs, and coordinating admissions and intakes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities + Communicate with current and potential referral sources to maintain positive, collaborative relationships. + Conduct screening interviews to identify urgent drug and alcohol assessment needs. (Face-to-face screenings may be conducted for "walk-in" clients.) + Schedule client for level of care assessment with one of POWER's designated clinicians. Provide client with all relevant information about the assessment. + Communicate and confirm appointment date, time and location of assessments with clients. + Maintain all documentation within the client's Electronic Health Record (EMR) and other applicable systems. + Provide appropriate follow up on all client no shows. + Coordinate the admission and intake for all clients moving into POWER programs, to ensure a timely and smooth transition into treatment. + Coordinate the forwarding of screening, assessment, required consents, and other applicable documents to external agenices as appropriate for those seeking care externally of POWER. + Consult with supervisor and/or POWER's psychiatrist as needed. + Maintain education and knowledge regarding drug and alcohol treatment agencies, programs and maintain resources to be shared with clients. Minimum Qualifications + Associates degree in social work, counseling or related field or current PCB certification is preferred. Must be willing to work towards PCB credential such as CRS. + A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a drug and alcohol treatment setting is required. + Information technology proficiency with the ability to navigate Microsoft Office 365 suite, SharePoint, EMR and other applications. + Personal recovery experience not required, however, knowledge of recovery, support systems and community resources preferred. + Experience in a women-centered treatment environment or with gender-responsive care, and familiarity with motivational interviewing skills, preferred. + Valid PA driver's license. + Act 73, 33 and 34 clearance required Skills and Competencies + Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to effectively engage clients. + Strong organizational and time-management skills. + Excellent customer service; strong written and verbal communication skills. + The ability to support organization's mission with a sensitivity of cultural diversity and workplace harmony. Working Conditions + Hybrid work environment with partial work from home and expected days in the office. + Primarily a sedentary role with heavy computer use + Ability to work the hours required to complete the job.
