Responsibilities: - Develop and optimize mathematical models for slot machines in collaboration with game designers and mathematicians. - Code simulations in our proprietary engine (C++) to aid the verification and playtesting of games. - Conduct statistical analysis on new and existing games to provide quantitative analysis as it relates to player experience. - Work with a global team to implement and verify game components in a fast-paced development cycle. - Deliver unique and exciting game experiences; engage and entice the player with "the ride" and consider the player's universal experience in every design decision. - Demonstrate independence, accountability, and integrity; follow through on commitments and communicate dependencies as they arise. - Develop successful relationships: Develop alliances across the organization to foster positive communication and cultivate elegant solutions to complex problems. - Build ideas based off solid business rationale: Apply solid design practices to support each product and feature with respect to their business goals. As a Game Economy Designer, you'll be the mastermind behind in-game currencies, pricing, rewards, and progression-basically, the one making sure everything feels just right. You'll work with data, study player behavior, and adjust the game's economy to keep players engaged and entertained while ensuring a balanced experience. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Full ownership in designing and building a free-to-play game economy, for different virtual products that the game offers, define different metrics that allow you to measure and keep improving. - Understand how a game works and how different customers behave in it. - Identify and develop the purchase drivers and challenges in the game economy context, create new segments on design, and optimize the pricing to improve the game performance. - Once a feature is launched, analyze the data collected and derive insights, allowing for iteration of the game's economic model. - Recommend rewards and monetization game features to create an economic system to fulfill player needs. - Create new features that improve long-term player satisfaction and provide more monetization opportunities. - Design the economic systems to drive players to play and enhance their game experience. - Manage the economy and pricing of virtual goods, balance between free content vs. paid currency in the game economy. - Balance customer experience and revenue opportunity for in-game currency and virtual goods. - Collaborate with product owners, marketing managers, UX/UI designers, analytics teams, data scientists, and development teams. - Investigate different macroeconomy models for different segments of users. - Build and analyze simulations and predictive models to proactively forecast the results of changes to content. - Plan A/B testing plans and analyze their effectiveness.
