Role Description We’re looking for a driven, experienced Tax Manager to lead our U.S. and Canadian tax function. As a key member of the Finance team, you’ll own tax compliance, reporting, planning, and forecasting while partnering closely with the Corporate Controller. This is a high-impact role for a tax leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys tackling complex, business-critical challenges. How you will make an impact at PaperWorks: - Lead the preparation and review of consolidated U.S. federal, Canadian, and U.S. state and local tax returns, along with monthly, quarterly, and annual global tax provisions (ASC 740). - Support quarterly and annual financial statement disclosures and prepare technical tax memorandums. - Design and execute tax planning strategies aligned with enterprise and business-unit financial goals. - Manage federal, state, and internal tax audits, including analysis and supporting schedules. - Provide tax guidance on transactions and business initiatives, ensuring sound and compliant decision-making. - Identify, manage, and mitigate tax risks and cash exposures. - Drive continuous improvement in tax compliance, reporting, and related processes. - Partner closely with Corporate Finance and business leaders to implement tax strategies accurately and on time. - Act as the primary liaison with external advisors and taxing authorities, overseeing ancillary taxes such as property and franchise. - Oversee all transfer pricing documentation and compliance requirements. - Ensure strong internal controls over income tax accounting and compliance. - Analyze and support tax implications for acquisitions, dispositions, and restructurings. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree and/or CPA preferred. - 7+ years of progressive income tax experience, including hands-on Canadian tax experience. - Demonstrated experience with CSC CorpTax software strongly preferred. - Strong background in tax research, compliance software, and complex tax matters. - A hands-on, ownership mindset with proven success in collaborative, team-based environments. - Ability to take initiative, manage priorities, and deliver results that support business needs. - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across the organization. - Proven ability to meet deadlines through proactive issue identification and resolution. We are seeking a remote-based, strategic Account Executive to join our dynamic Paperboard Sales team. Through a consultative sales process you will discover the customers’ needs then collaboratively determine which paperboard product is the best fit for the project. Whether the customer is introducing a new product or re-staging an existing one, you will be the consultant throughout the process. Location: Greater Toronto Area or Midwest U.S. What You’ll Do: Develop a sufficient number of high potential prospects to generate long-term sales growth. Sell and promote paperboard products and value-added services to meet or exceed both short-term and long-term goals. Demonstrate business and financial acumen to effectively execute on paperboard sales strategies and generate a level of profitability that meets or exceeds business and segment goals. Actively leverage sales CRM technology and tools to meet strategic account planning objectives and maximize customer and segment growth potential. Collaborate with Finance, Customer Service and Sales support resources to provide customer proposals and quotations focused on generating business and market growth potential. Plan, coordinate and conduct sales presentations to individuals and client groups, independently and collaboratively with Technical, Product Development and Management teams. Create annual forecast for assigned accounts; work with management to establish strategy to achieve specific account goals. Partner with internal teams in developing forecast, budget, and month end presentations to support key financial business objectives. Participate in projects and cross-functional project teams focused on improving business unit financial performance. What You’ll Bring: Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of successful sales experience. Proven sales background with meaningful sales experience in the paper mill and paperboard industry. Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills and the ability to build key relationships with team members across the organization and develop an informal network of internal consultants. Demonstrated ability in taking ownership of responsibilities and executing them to meet business needs and deliverables. Aptitude to work independently, successfully manage accounts, work under pressure, and adapt to changes in the work environment is essential. Ability to multi-task and appropriately prioritize work, while maintaining attention to detail is critical. A drive to overcome challenges and deliver superior service with a positive attitude.
