Role Description The Sales Engineer is responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding market share by developing and managing key customer relationships within assigned territories. Leveraging strong technical sales experience, this role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, delivering tailored solutions, and providing exceptional service to ensure long-term customer success. Essential Functions - Develop and execute a strategic territory plan to drive new business acquisition and expand existing accounts across assigned regions (Southeast, Northeast, Southwest, and Western U.S.) - Proactively identify, pursue, and close new opportunities by leveraging an existing book of business and strong industry network. - Build and maintain long-term relationships with OEM and Tier 1 customers, acting as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact. - Diagnose customer challenges and deliver tailored, solution-based offerings that align with a premium service model. - Operate independently to manage all aspects of the sales cycle, including prospecting and quoting. - Consistently meet or exceed revenue targets through effective territory development and account growth strategies. - Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and leadership teams to ensure successful execution and customer satisfaction. - Maintain detailed and accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, and pipeline activity within the CRM system. - Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to identify new growth opportunities, value-added offerings, and inform sales strategy. - Provide ongoing post-sale support and account management to ensure customer retention, satisfaction, and long-term partnership growth. - Development of customer forecasts with demand management that accurately predicts the needs and optimizes supply alignment. - Demonstrate the ability to build and strengthen trusted relationships at the executive level to drive alignment and influence decisions. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or other technical related field. - Proven track record of managing and growing key OEM and Tier 1 accounts, including multi-year contract negotiations and long-term partnership development. - Strong technical aptitude with the ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes related to precision metal components. - Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and quality teams to deliver customized solutions and resolve complex customer issues. - Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, margin improvement, and pipeline development within highly competitive industrial, agriculture, automotive, construction, specialty vehicle, or power generation markets. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required - Knowledge of sales techniques and the ability to overcome objections. - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with people from various backgrounds and levels. - Ability to cold call and build relationships with customers and prospective clients. - Ability to effectively manage competing demands on time and attention and frequent interruptions. - Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. - Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Ability and willingness to travel to and from various customer and prospective customer sites as needed. - Valid driver’s license and the ability to be appropriately insured. Work Environment This position is performed in an office environment with little exposure to the elements. Will be required to travel 75% of the time to and from customer and prospective customer locations. May have minimal exposure to mechanical parts and loud noises.

Role Description The Transportation Load Planner is responsible for the daily planning of all inbound and outbound deliveries into efficient and cost-effective loads. This position will plan loads that meet the needs of the business from a customer perspective, while meeting the compliance and cost requirements of Lafayette Steel and Aluminum’s standard operating procedures, utilizing approved transportation carriers routed to minimize travelled miles and maximize product on the trailer. Essential Functions - Utilize and manage transportation needs using the transportation management system and address issues in a timely manner. - Evaluate transportation needs and prepare daily work and run schedules to optimize profitability within the division and meet customer expectations. - Ensure “rush” orders, specialty orders, etc. are planned with priority, with customer needs in mind. - Follow up on customer inquiries and communicate to internal and external customers with priority. - Continually monitor load plan optimization and manually plan routes as needed. - Follow all necessary safety and security precautions for moving metal materials and perform load planning and shipping duties in compliance with all DOT requirements. - Manage and oversee customer delivery requests and route assignments to meet customer expectations and on-time delivery requirements. - Dispatch internal drivers and arrange external carriers when needed for movement of raw and finished materials. - Track deliveries and progress. - Record and maintain files and records of customer requests and services provided using shipping software and other internal record keeping methods. - Ensure timely and efficient movement of materials. - Coordinate with Outside Processing Team to ensure inbound and outbound movements to various locations are arranged and executed appropriately. - Arrange for customer carriers to take loads through their portals/carriers as needed. - Review load and transportation trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Other Responsibilities - Communicate with maintenance and arrange for repairs, as needed. - Confer with customers, supervisors, and sales team members to address requests. - Other duties as assigned. Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of experience and education. - Minimum 5 years’ experience in Transportation Planning or Supply Chain Management. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required - Knowledge and understanding of principles, methods, and costs for moving materials by road. - Strong MS Office Skills especially regarding Excel, Word, and Outlook. - Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external groups using various communication methods including verbal and written. - Ability to use and understand transportation software. - Ability to work on a team and independently with little to no direct supervision. Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related discipline preferred. - Previous experience in Microsoft AX. Work Environment This job may operate remotely from Indiana, Illinois, Pennsylvania, or Florida only. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
