Legal Assistant / Paralegal / Junior Attorney – Healthcare Focus (Remote, Austin Area) Position Type: Full-Time (Remote with occasional in-person errands) Location: Austin, TX (must reside locally for courthouse, client, or office errands) About the Role We are seeking a motivated Paralegal with an interest in healthcare law and compliance. This position offers the flexibility of remote work while requiring local presence in Austin for occasional in-person tasks such as courthouse filings, record retrieval, and document delivery. This role is ideal for professionals at different stages of their legal career who want to gain hands-on experience in healthcare, compliance, and employment law while supporting a fast-paced, people-centered organization. This role is a direct-hire opportunity supporting an executive whose businesses are exclusively supported by O’Mally Management Group. Due to the nature of the position, details regarding the Company will be shared with qualified candidates at the appropriate stage of the hiring process. Key Responsibilities - Draft, review, and format legal documents, contracts, and policies related to healthcare operations and compliance. - Assist in managing case files, including regulatory, employment, and healthcare-related matters. - Support compliance initiatives (HIPAA, licensure, audits, employment regulations). - Conduct legal and regulatory research, summarize findings, and prepare memoranda. - Coordinate calendars, track deadlines, and support e-filings, hearings, and legal proceedings. - Act as a liaison with outside counsel, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders. - Protect confidentiality of sensitive healthcare and employment records at all times. - Perform occasional in-person errands in Austin (e.g., courthouse filings, records pickup). Qualifications For Legal Assistants / Paralegals: - High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or paralegal certification preferred. - 1–3 years of legal support experience, ideally in healthcare, compliance, or employment law. - Strong organizational, proofreading, and administrative skills. For Junior Attorneys (licensed or awaiting bar results): - JD from an accredited law school; licensed (or pending licensure) in Texas preferred. - Demonstrated interest in healthcare, employment, or compliance law. - Strong research, drafting, and client-facing skills. For All Candidates: - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal research/document management tools. - Ability to manage multiple deadlines and adapt in a fast-paced environment. - Must reside in Austin for occasional in-person tasks.
